Then hearing this word, Pilate led Jesus out. And he sat down on the judgment seat, at a place called The Pavement, but in Hebrew, Gabbatha.

But they cried out, Away, Away! Crucify Him! Pilate said to them, Shall I crucify your King? The chief priests answered, We have no king except Caesar.

Then the chief priests of the Jews said to Pilate, Do not write, The King of the Jews, but that One said, I am King of the Jews.

Then they said to one another, Let us not tear it, but let us cast lots about it, whose it will be (that the Scripture might be fulfilled which said, "They divided My garments among them," and "they threw a lot for My garment." Thenindeed the soldiers did these things. LXX-Psa. 21:19; MT-Psa. 22:18 )

But on coming to Jesus, when they saw He was dead already, they did not break His legs.

But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a lance, and at once blood and water came out.

And after these things, Joseph from Arimathea, being a disciple of Jesus, but concealed because of fear of the Jews, asked Pilate that he might take the body of Jesus. And Pilate gave permission. Then he came and took the body of Jesus.

But on the first of the sabbaths, Mary Magdalene came early to the tomb, darkness yet being on it . And she saw the stone had been removed from the tomb.

And the grave cloth which was on His head was not lying with the linens, but was wrapped up in one place by itself.

But Mary stood outside at the tomb, weeping. Then as she wept, she stooped down into the tomb.

Jesus said to her, Do not touch Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father. But go to My brothers and say to them, I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and My God, and your God.

But Thomas, one of the Twelve, the one called Twin, was not with them when Jesus came.

Then the other disciples said to him, We have seen the Lord. But he said to them, Unless I see the mark of the nails in His hands, and thrust my finger into the mark of the nails, and thrust my hand into His side, I will not believe, never!

Then He said to Thomas, Bring your finger here and see My hands, and bring your hand and thrust into My side, and be not unbelieving, but believing.

But these have been written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.

Truly, truly, I say to you, When you were younger, you girded yourself, and you walked where you desired. But when you grow old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will gird you, and will carry you where you do not desire.

But He said this signifying by what death he would glorify God. And having said this, He told him, Follow Me.

But turning, Peter saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following them , who also leaned on His breast at the Supper, and said, Lord, who is the one betraying You?

Therefore, the word went out to the brothers that that disciple does not die. Yet Jesus did not say to him that he does not die, but, If I desire him to remain until I come, what is that to you?

And having met with them , He charged them not to leave Jerusalem, but to await the promise of the Father, "which you heard of Me;
