for we are strangers before You, and settlers, like all our fathers; our days on the land are like a shadow, and there is none abiding.

O Jehovah our God, all this store that we have prepared to build a house to You, for Your holy name, is out of Your hand, and all is of You.

O Jehovah, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, our fathers, keep this forever for the intent of the thoughts of the heart of your people, and prepare their heart toward You;

and give a perfect heart to my son Solomon, to keep Your commandments, Your testimonies, and Your statutes, and to do all, even to build this magnificent house, for which I have prepared.

And they sacrificed sacrifices to Jehovah, and offered burnt offerings to Jehovah, on the next day after that day: a thousand bulls, a thousand rams, a thousand lambs, with their drink offerings, and sacrifices in great plenty for allIsrael.

and they went, Solomon and all the congregation with him, to the high place that was in Gibeon, for there was God's tabernacle of the congregation that Moses, the servant of Jehovah, had made in the wilderness.

But David had brought up the ark of God from Kirjath-jearim, when David made ready for it, for he had stretched out a tent for it in Jerusalem;

Now, O Jehovah God, Your Word with my father David is confirmed, for You have made me to reign over a people as many as the dust of the earth.

Now give to me wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people; for who can judge this, Your great people?

And God said to Solomon, Because this has been in your heart, that you have not asked riches, treasures, and honor, and the life of those who hate you, and also have not asked many days, but have asked wisdom and knowledge for yourself thatyou may judge My people, over whom I have made you reign;

And the king made the silver and the gold in Jerusalem as stones, and he made the cedars as sycamores that are in the low country for abundance.

and they came up and brought out from Egypt a chariot for six hundred silver pieces, and a horse for a hundred and fifty; and so for all the kings of the Hittites, and the kings of Syria, they brought them out by their hand.

And Solomon said to build a house for the name of Jehovah, and a house for his kingdom.

behold, I am building a house to the name of Jehovah my God, to dedicate to Him, to burn incense of sweet spices before Him, and for the continual Bread of Arrangement, and for burnt offerings morningand evening, on the sabbath, and on thenew moons, and at the set feasts of Jehovah our God. This shall be upon Israel forever.

And the house which I am building shall be great, for our God is greater than all gods.

But who has strength to enclose a house for Him, since the heavens and the heaven of heavens cannot contain Him? And who am I that I should build Him a house, except to offer before Him?

And send to me cedar trees, firs, and algums from Lebanon, for I know that your servants know how to cut down the trees of Lebanon; and behold, my servants shall be with your servants,

even to prepare trees in abundance for me, for the house that I am building will be great and wonderful.

And Hiram said, Blessed be Jehovah, the God of Israel, who has made the heavens and the earth, who has given to David the king a wise son, knowing discretion and understanding, who will builda house for Jehovah, and a house for hiskingdom.

And he overlaid the house with precious stones for beauty, and the gold was gold from Parvaim.
