And Shechem spoke to his father Hamor, saying, Get me this girl to wife.

And Jacob heard that Dinah his daughter had been defiled; now his sons were with the cattle in the field; so Jacob held his peace until they came.

And the sons of Jacob answered Shechem and Hamor his father deceitfully, because they had defiled Dinah their sister,

And the young man did not delay to do the thing, because he was delighted with Jacobs daughter and he was honored above all the household of his father.

Then Hamor and Shechem his son came to the gate of their town and spoke to the men of their town, saying,

And when all the adults of the town had heard from Shechem and from his father Hamor, they circumcised every male, those that went out of the gate of his town.

And it came to pass on the third day, when the men were sore, two sons of Jacob, Simeon and Levi, Dinahs brothers, took each man his sword, and came against the town quietly, and slew every male.

And they slew Hamor and Shechem his son with the edge of the sword, and took Dinah out of Shechems house, and went out.

Then Jacob said to his household and to all who were with him, Put away the strange gods that are among you, and cleanse yourselves, and change your garments;

And they journeyed; and the fear of God fell upon the towns that were round about them, and they did not pursue after Jacob and his sons.

And he built there an altar, and called the place Beth-el (the house of God), because there God appeared to him when he fled from the presence of his brother Esau.

And God said to him. Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel shall be your name; so he called his name Israel.

And it came to pass, as her soul was departing and she was dying, she called the childs name Bar-kebai (the Son of My Sorrow); but his father called him Benjamin (the Son of My Right Hand).

And Israel journeyed, and pitched his tent beyond the tower of Gadar.

And it came to pass, when Israel dwelt in that land, that Reuben went and lay with Bilhah, his fathers concubine; and Israel heard of it. Now the sons of Jacob were twelve:

And Jacob came to his father Isaac to Mamre, to Koriath Gabarey, which is Hebron, where Abraham and Isaac had sojourned.

Then Isaac grew weak and died; and he was gathered to his people, being very old and full of days; and his sons Esau and Jacob buried him in the burial ground which his father Abraham had purchased.

Esau took his wives from among the daughters of Canaan: Adah the daughter of Elon the Hittite, Aholibamah the daughter of Anah, the son of Zibeon the Hivite;

And Esau took his wives, his sons, his daughters, and all the persons of his household, and all his cattle, and all the wealth which he had acquired in the land of Canaan; and went to the land of Seir from the presence of his brother Jacob.

And these are the sons of Zibeon: Ana and Anah; he is the Anah who discovered water in the desert while he was feeding the asses of Zibeon his father.
