Save me, God,for the water has risen to my neck.

I am weary from my crying;my throat is parched.My eyes fail, looking for my God.

For I have endured insults because of you,and shame has covered my face.

because zeal for your house has consumed me,and the insults of those who insult youhave fallen on me.

But as for me, Lord,my prayer to you is for a time of favor.In your abundant, faithful love, God,answer me with your sure salvation.

Answer me, Lord,for your faithful love is good.In keeping with your abundant compassion,turn to me.

Don’t hide your face from your servant,for I am in distress.Answer me quickly!

Insults have broken my heart,and I am in despair.I waited for sympathy,but there was none;for comforters, but found no one.

Instead, they gave me gall for my food,and for my thirstthey gave me vinegar to drink.

Let their table set before them be a snare,and let it be a trap for their allies.

For they persecute the one you struckand talk about the pain of those you wounded.

But as for me—poor and in pain—let your salvation protect me, God.

For the Lord listens to the needyand does not despisehis own who are prisoners.

for God will save Zionand build up the cities of Judah.They will live there and possess it.

Be a rock of refuge for me,where I can always go.Give the command to save me,for you are my rock and fortress.

For you are my hope, Lord God,my confidence from my youth.

For my enemies talk about me,and those who spy on me plot together,

saying, “God has abandoned him;chase him and catch him,for there is no one to rescue him.”

My lips will shout for joywhen I sing praise to youbecause you have redeemed me.

Therefore, my tongue will proclaimyour righteousness all day long,for those who intend to harm mewill be disgraced and confounded.
