He shall lean on his house, but it shall not stand: He shall hold fast thereby, but it shall not endure.

He is green before the sun, And his shoots go forth over his garden.

His roots are wrapped about the [stone]-heap, He looks at the place of stones.

If he is destroyed from his place, Then it shall deny him, [saying], I haven't seen you.

Look, this is the joy of his way; And out of the earth shall others spring.

[Him] that removes the mountains, and they do not know it, When he overturns them in his anger;

God will not withdraw his anger; The helpers of Rahab stoop under him.

If only there were an umpire between us that might lay his hand on us both,

[then] he would take his rod away from me, and his terror would not make me afraid.

But oh that God would speak, And open his lips against you,

I am as one that is a laughing-stock to his neighbor, I who called on God, and he answered: The just, the perfect man is a laughing-stock.

With him is strength and wisdom; The deceived and the deceiver are his.

Shall not his majesty make you afraid, And his dread fall on you?

Seeing his days are determined, The number of his months is with you, And you have appointed his bounds that he can't pass;

Look away from him, that he may rest, Until he shall accomplish, as a hired worker, his day.

You prevail forever against him, and he passes; You change his countenance, and send him away.

His sons come to honor, and he does not know it; And they are brought low, but he doesn't perceive it of them.

But his flesh on him has pain, And his soul inside him mourns.

Look, he puts no trust in his holy ones; Yes, the heavens are not clean in his eyes:

The wicked man travails with pain all his days, Even the number of years that are laid up for the oppressor.
