Genesis 1:1-2:3">[xr] In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

He was in the beginning with God.

There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:

who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, [fn] who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.

Matthew 3:13-17; Mark 1:9-11; Luke 3:21,22">[xr] The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, "Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

And I have seen and testified that this is the Son of God."

And looking at Jesus as He walked, he said, "Behold the Lamb of God!"

Nathanael answered and said to Him, "Rabbi, You are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!"

51 And He said to him, "Most assuredly, I say to you, hereafter [fn] you shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man."

This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, "Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him."

Jesus answered and said to him, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."

Jesus answered, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

"He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God."

He who has received His testimony has certified that God is true.

For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God does not give the Spirit by measure.
