Why gaze with envy, you mountain peaks,at the mountain God desired for his abode?The Lord will dwell there forever!

Surely God crushes the heads of his enemies,the hairy brow of one who goes on in his guilty acts.

to him who rides in the ancient, highest heavens.Look, he thunders with his powerful voice!

Ascribe power to God.His majesty is over Israel,his power is among the clouds.

God, you are awe-inspiring in your sanctuaries.The God of Israel gives power and strength to his people.Blessed be God!

The descendants of his servants will inherit it,and those who love his name will live in it.

May the righteous flourish in his daysand well-being abounduntil the moon is no more.

May desert tribes kneel before himand his enemies lick the dust.

He will redeem them from oppression and violence,for their lives are precious in his sight.

May his name endure forever;as long as the sun shines,may his fame increase.May all nations be blessed by himand call him blessed.

Blessed be his glorious name forever;the whole earth is filled with his glory.Amen and amen.

Therefore his people turn to themand drink in their overflowing words.

God is known in Judah;his name is great in Israel.

His tent is in Salem,his dwelling place in Zion.

Has his faithful love ceased forever?Is his promise at an end for all generations?

Has God forgotten to be gracious?Has he in anger withheld his compassion?” Selah

We will not hide them from their children,but will tell a future generationthe praiseworthy acts of the Lord,his might, and the wondrous workshe has performed.

so that they might put their confidence in Godand not forget God’s works,but keep his commands.

They did not keep God’s covenantand refused to live by his law.

Look! He struck the rock and water gushed out;torrents overflowed.But can he also provide breador furnish meat for his people?”
