But they pleaded with Him, "Stay with us, for it is nearly evening and the day is almost over." So He went in to stay with them.

Then their eyes were opened and they recognized Jesus-and He disappeared from their sight.

They asked one another, "Were not our hearts burning within us as He spoke with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?"

And they got up that very hour and returned to Jerusalem. There they found the Eleven and those with them, gathered together

Then the two told what had happened on the road, and how they had recognized Jesus in the breaking of the bread.

While they were describing these events, Jesus Himself stood among them and said, "Peace be with you."

But they were startled and frightened, thinking they had seen a spirit.

While they were still in disbelief because of their joy and amazement, He asked them, "Do you have anything here to eat?"

And they worshiped Him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy,

And when the two disciples heard him say this, they followed Jesus.

Jesus turned and saw them following. "What do you want?" He asked. They said to Him, "Rabbi" (which means Teacher), "where are You staying?"

"Come and see," He replied. So they went and saw where He was staying, and spent that day with Him. It was about the tenth hour.

"Now draw some out," He said, "and take it to the master of the banquet." They did so,

After this, He went down to Capernaum with His mother and brothers and His disciples, and they stayed there a few days.

After He was raised from the dead, His disciples remembered that He had said this. Then they believed the Scripture and the word that Jesus had spoken.

So they left the town and made their way toward Jesus.

Do you not say, 'There are still four months until the harvest'? I tell you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are ripe for harvest.

So when the Samaritans came to Him, they asked Him to stay with them, and He stayed two days.

They said to the woman, "We now believe not only because of your words; we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man truly is the Savior of the world."

So he inquired as to the hour when his son had recovered, and they told him, "The fever left him yesterday at the seventh hour."
