I hate and am disgusted by falsehood; [But] I love your law.

I am [for] peace: But when I speak, they are for war.

I will give thanks to you; because of your awesome works, I am distinguished: Wonderful are your works; And my soul knows that very well.

If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: When I awake, I am still with you.

Don't I hate them, O Yahweh, that hate you? And am I not grieved with those that rise up against you?

Attend to my cry; For I am brought very low: Deliver me from my persecutors; For they are stronger than I.

And in your loving-kindness cut off my enemies, And destroy all those that afflict my soul; For I am your slave.

Counsel is mine, and sound knowledge: I am understanding; I have might.

Who can say, I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin?

So is the man that deceives his neighbor, And says, Am I not joking?

Surely I am more brutish than any man, And don't have the understanding of man;

I am black, but comely, Oh you daughters of Jerusalem, As the tents of Kedar, As the curtains of Solomon.

Don't look on me, because I am swarthy, Because the sun has scorched me. My mother's sons were incensed against me; They made me keeper of the vineyards; [But] my own vineyard I have not kept.

I am a rose of Sharon, A lily of the valleys.

Stay me with raisins, refresh me with apples; For I am sick from love.

I adjure you, O daughters of Jerusalem, If you find my beloved, That you tell him, that I am sick from love.
