"If your children ask for bread, which of you would give them a stone?

Or if your children ask for a fish, would you give them a snake?

On the last day many people will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, we spoke for you, and through you we forced out demons and did many miracles.'

Then Jesus said to him, "Don't tell anyone about this. But go and show yourself to the priest and offer the gift Moses commanded for people who are made well. This will show the people what I have done."

When Jesus entered the city of Capernaum, an army officer came to him, begging for help.

The officer answered, "Lord, I am not worthy for you to come into my house. You only need to command it, and my servant will be healed.

When the people saw this, they were amazed and praised God for giving power like this to human beings.

Then the followers of John came to Jesus and said, "Why do we and the Pharisees often fast for a certain time, but your followers don't?"

Then a woman who had been bleeding for twelve years came behind Jesus and touched the edge of his coat.

When he saw the crowds, he felt sorry for them because they were hurting and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.

If the people there welcome you, let your peace stay there. But if they don't welcome you, take back the peace you wished for them.

I tell you the truth, on the Judgment Day it will be better for the towns of Sodom and Gomorrah than for the people of that town.

Those who try to hold on to their lives will give up true life. Those who give up their lives for me will hold on to true life.

They asked him, "Are you the One who is to come, or should we wait for someone else?"

This was written about him: ‘I will send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare the way for you.' Malachi 3:1

‘We played music for you, but you did not dance; we sang a sad song, but you did not cry.'

He said, "How terrible for you, Korazin! How terrible for you, Bethsaida! If the same miracles I did in you had happened in Tyre and Sidon, those people would have changed their lives a long time ago. They would have worn rough cloth and put ashes on themselves to show they had changed.

But I tell you, on the Judgment Day it will be better for Tyre and Sidon than for you.

But I tell you, on the Judgment Day it will be better for Sodom than for you."
