But as for me, my feet came close to falling. My steps had almost tripped.

For I was jealous of the proud when I saw that all was going well with the sinful.

For they suffer no pain in their death, and their body is fat.

They laugh at the truth, and speak sinful things about making it hard for others. They speak from a high place.

For no good reason I have kept my heart pure and have not sinned.

For I have suffered all day long. I have been punished every morning.

It was too hard for me when I tried to understand this,

For sure, You set the sinful in places where there is danger at every step. You throw them down to be destroyed.

For, see, those who are far from You will be lost from You forever. You have destroyed all those who are not faithful to You.

But as for me, it is good to be near God. I have made the Lord God my safe place. So I may tell of all the things You have done.

We do not see any special things happening. There is no longer anyone who speaks for God. And none of us knows how long this will be.

It was You Who opened up the earth for water to flow out. And You dried up rivers that flow forever.

Think about Your agreement. For the dark places of the land are full of fighting.

Rise up, O God. Stand up for Your rights. Remember how the foolish man speaks against You all day long.

For honor does not come from the east or the west or from the desert.

For there is a cup in the Lord's hand. It is full of strong wine that is well mixed. He pours out from it, and all the sinful people of the earth must drink all of it.

But as for me, I will tell of it forever. I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.

There He broke the burning arrows, the iron covering and the sword, and all the things used for fighting in war.

For the anger of man will praise You. And You will keep what is left of anger around You.

Has His loving-kindness stopped forever? Has His promise come to an end for all time?
