Then His people remembered the days of old, the days of Moses. Where is He who brought them through the sea with the shepherds of His flock? Where is the One who set His Holy Spirit among them,

who sent His glorious arm to lead them by the right hand of Moses, who divided the waters before them to gain for Himself everlasting renown,

You will leave behind your name as a curse for My chosen ones, and the Lord GOD will slay you, but to His servants He will give another name.

No longer will a nursing infant live but a few days, or an old man not live out his days. For the youth will die at a hundred years, and he who fails to reach a hundred will be considered accursed.

You who tremble at His word, hear the word of the LORD: "Your brothers who hate and exclude you because of My name have said, 'Let the LORD be glorified that we may see your joy!' But they will be put to shame."

Hear the uproar from the city; listen to the voice from the temple! It is the voice of the LORD, repaying His enemies what they deserve!

When you see, you will rejoice, and you will flourish like grass; then the hand of the LORD will be revealed to His servants, but His wrath will be shown to His enemies.

For behold, the LORD will come with fire-His chariots are like the whirlwind-to execute His anger with fury and His rebuke with flames of fire.

For by fire and by His sword, the LORD will execute judgment on all flesh, and many will be slain by the LORD.

Then the LORD reached out His hand, touched my mouth, and said to me: "Behold, I have put My words into your mouth.

Israel was holy to the LORD, the firstfruits of His harvest. All who devoured her found themselves guilty; disaster came upon them, declares the LORD."

The young lions have roared at him; they have growled with a loud voice. They have laid waste his land; his cities lie in ruins, without inhabitants.

you say, 'I am innocent. Surely His anger will turn from me.' But I will certainly judge you, because you say, 'I have not sinned.'

"If a man divorces his wife and she leaves him to marry another, can he ever return to her? Would not such a land be completely defiled? But you have played the harlot with many lovers-and you would return to Me?" declares the LORD.

A lion has gone up from his thicket, and a destroyer of nations has set out. He has left his lair to lay waste to your land. Your cities will be reduced to ruins and lie uninhabited.

Behold, he advances like the clouds, his chariots like the whirlwind. His horses are swifter than eagles. Woe to us, for we are ruined!

I looked, and the fertile field was a desert. All its cities were torn down before the LORD, before His fierce anger.

They are well-fed, lusty stallions, each neighing after his neighbor's wife.

Shepherds and their flocks will come against her; they will pitch their tents all around her, each tending his own portion:

Cut off your hair and throw it away. Raise up a lamentation on the barren heights, for the LORD has rejected and forsaken the generation of His wrath.
