Beware lest Hezekiah mislead you, saying, "Yahweh will deliver us." Has any one of the gods of the nations delivered his land from the hand of the king of Assyria?

Now it happened that when King Hezekiah heard it, he tore his clothes, covered himself with sackcloth, and entered the house of Yahweh.

Perhaps Yahweh your God will hear the words of Rabshakeh, whom his master the king of Assyria has sent to reproach the living God, and will reprove the words which Yahweh your God has heard. Therefore, lift up a prayer for the remnant that is left.'"

Behold, I will put a spirit in him so that he will hear a report and return to his own land. And I will make him fall by the sword in his own land."'"

But now, O Yahweh our God, save us from his hand that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that You are Yahweh, You alone."

Now it happened that as he was worshiping in the house of Nisroch his god, Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons struck him down with the sword; and they escaped into the land of Ararat. And Esarhaddon his son became king in his place.

Then Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to Yahweh

It is the living, the living who give thanks to You, as I do today;A father makes known to his sons about Your truth.

And Hezekiah was glad about these things and showed them all his treasure house, the silver and the gold and the spices and the good oil and his whole armory and all that was found in his treasuries. There was nothing in his house nor in all his dominion that Hezekiah did not show them.

Behold, Lord Yahweh will come with strength,With His arm ruling for Him.Behold, His reward is with HimAnd His recompense before Him.

Like a shepherd He will shepherd His flock;In His arm He will gather the lambsAnd carry them in His bosom;He will gently lead the nursing ewes.

Who has measured the waters in the hollow of His hand,And encompassed the heavens by the span,And calculated the dust of the earth by the measure,And weighed the mountains in a balanceAnd the hills in a pair of scales?

Who has encompassed the Spirit of Yahweh,Or as His counselor has informed Him?

"To whom then will you liken MeThat I would be his equal?" says the Holy One.

Lift up your eyes on highAnd see who has created these stars,The One who leads forth their host by number,He calls them all by name;Because of the greatness of His vigor and the strength of His power,Not one of them is missing.

Who has awakened one from the eastWhom He calls in righteousness to His feet?He gives up nations before himAnd has dominion over kings.He makes them like dust with his sword,As the wind‑driven chaff with his bow.

He pursues them, passing on in peace,By a way he had not come with his feet.

Each one helps his neighborAnd says to his brother, "Be strong!"

He will not cry out or raise His voice,Nor make His voice heard in the street.
