For I said in my haste, I am cut off from Your eyes; surely You heard the voice of my prayers when I cried to You.

Draw out the spear and close ranks to meet my pursuers; say to my soul, I am your salvation.

I have been young and am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, or his seed begging bread.

I am bent down, I am bowed down exceedingly; I went mourning all the day.

I am exceedingly benumbed and crushed. I howl from the groanings of my heart.

But like a deaf one I do not hear; and I am like a dumb one who does not open his mouth.

And I am as a man who is not hearing, and who has no rebukes in his mouth.

For I am ready to fall and my pain is before me always.

For I will confess my perversity; I am anxious from my sin.

O Jehovah, make me to know my end and the limit of my days, what it is . Let me know how lacking I am .

Turn away Your stroke from me; I am consumed by the blow of Your hand.

Hear my prayer, O Jehovah, and give ear to my cry. Do not be silent at my tears, for I am an alien with You, a pilgrim, as were all my fathers.

For evils have surrounded me until there is no number; my iniquities have taken hold on me and I am not able to look up; they are more than the hairs of my head, and my heart fails me.

But I am poor and needy; the Lord will take thought for me. You are my help and my deliverer; O my God, do not delay.
