"God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?

"He has not observed iniquity in Jacob, Nor has He seen wickedness in Israel. The LORD his God is with him, And the shout of a King is among them.

God brings them out of Egypt; He has strength like a wild ox.

"For there is no sorcery against Jacob, Nor any divination against Israel. It now must be said of Jacob And of Israel, "Oh, what God has done!'

Then Balak said to Balaam, "Please come, I will take you to another place; perhaps it will please God that you may curse them for me from there."

And Balaam raised his eyes, and saw Israel encamped according to their tribes; and the Spirit of God came upon him.

The utterance of him who hears the words of God, Who sees the vision of the Almighty, Who falls down, with eyes wide open:

"God brings him out of Egypt; He has strength like a wild ox; He shall consume the nations, his enemies; He shall break their bones And pierce them with his arrows.

Then he took up his oracle and said: "Alas! Who shall live when God does this?

and it shall be to him and his descendants after him a covenant of an everlasting priesthood, because he was zealous for his God, and made atonement for the children of Israel."'

"Let the LORD, the God of the spirits of all flesh, set a man over the congregation,

"The LORD our God spoke to us in Horeb, saying: "You have dwelt long enough at this mountain.

The LORD your God has multiplied you, and here you are today, as the stars of heaven in multitude.

May the LORD God of your fathers make you a thousand times more numerous than you are, and bless you as He has promised you!

Numbers 13:1-33">[xr] "So we departed from Horeb, and went through all that great and terrible wilderness which you saw on the way to the mountains of the Amorites, as the LORD our God had commanded us. Then we came to Kadesh Barnea.

And I said to you, "You have come to the mountains of the Amorites, which the LORD our God is giving us.

Look, the LORD your God has set the land before you; go up and possess it, as the LORD God of your fathers has spoken to you; do not fear or be discouraged.'

They also took some of the fruit of the land in their hands and brought it down to us; and they brought back word to us, saying, "It is a good land which the LORD our God is giving us.'

"Nevertheless you would not go up, but rebelled against the command of the LORD your God;
