He then would have had to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now, once at the end of the ages, He has appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.

And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment,

But in those sacrifices there is a reminder of sins every year.

Psalm 40:6-8">[xr] Therefore, when He came into the world, He said: "Sacrifice and offering You did not desire, But a body You have prepared for Me.

But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God,

But the Holy Spirit also witnesses to us; for after He had said before,

not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries.

But recall the former days in which, after you were illuminated, you endured a great struggle with sufferings:

Now the [fn] just shall live by faith;But if anyone draws back,My soul has no pleasure in him." Habakkuk 2:3, 4 ">[fn]

But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul.

But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, [fn] embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.

But now they desire a better, that is, a heavenly country. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them.

But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons.

For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed best to them, but He for our profit, that we may be partakers of His holiness.

Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be dislocated, but rather be healed.

But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels,

whose voice then shook the earth; but now He has promised, saying, "Yet once more I shake [fn] not only the earth, but also heaven." Haggai 2:6">[fn]
