and all the house of Joseph, and his brothers, and his father's house: only their little ones, and their flocks, and their herds, they left in the land of Goshen.

And they came to the threshing-floor of Atad, which is beyond the Jordan, and there they lamented with a very great and intense lamentation: and he made a mourning for his father seven days.

And his sons did to him according to as he commanded them:

for his sons carried him into the land of Canaan, and buried him in the cave of the field of Machpelah, which Abraham bought with the field, for a possession of a burying-place, of Ephron the Hittite, before Mamre.

And Joseph returned into Egypt, he, and his brothers, and all that went up with him to bury his father, after he had buried his father.

And his brothers also went and fell down before his face; and they said, Look, we are your slaves.

And Joseph dwelt in Egypt, he, and his father's house: and Joseph lived a hundred and ten years.

And Joseph said to his brothers, I die; but God will surely visit you, and bring you up out of this land to the land which he swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.

Now these are the names of the sons of Israel, who came into Egypt (every man and his household came with Jacob):

And Joseph died, and all his brothers, and all that generation.

And he said to his people, Look, the people of the sons of Israel are more and mightier than we:

And Pharaoh charged all his people, saying, Every son that is born you shall cast into the river, and every daughter you shall save alive.

And his sister stood far off, to know what would be done to him.

Then his sister said to Pharaoh's daughter, Shall I go and call you a nurse of the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for you?

And it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown up, that he went out to his brothers, and looked on their burdens: and he saw an Egyptian smiting a Hebrew, one of his brothers.

And he said to his daughters, And where is he? Why is it that you have left the man? Call him, that he may eat bread.

And Moses was content to dwell with the man: and he gave Moses Zipporah his daughter.

And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.

Now Moses was keeping the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the back of the wilderness, and came to the mountain of God, to Horeb.

Moreover he said, I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look at God.
