Yahweh has purposed to destroy the wall of the daughter of Zion; He has stretched out the line, he has not withdrawn his hand from destroying; And he has made the rampart and wall to lament; they languish together.

Yahweh has done that which he purposed; he has fulfilled his word that he commanded in the days of old; He has thrown down, and has not pitied: And he has caused the enemy to rejoice over you; he has exalted the horn of your adversaries.

I am the [noble] man that has seen affliction by the rod of his wrath.

Surely against me he turns his hand again and again all the day.

He has bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow.

He has caused the shafts of his quiver to enter into my reins.

[It is of] Yahweh's loving-kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his compassions do not fail.

It is good for a [noble] man that he bear the yoke in his youth.

Let him put his mouth in the dust, if perhaps there may be hope.

Let him give his cheek to him that smites him; let him be filled full with reproach.

For though he causes grief, yet he will have compassion according to the multitude of his loving-kindnesses.

To subvert man in his cause, the Lord does not approve.

Why does man complain, a living [noble] man for the punishment of his sins?

The tongue of the nursing child cleaves to the roof of his mouth for thirst: The young children ask bread, and no man breaks it to them.

Yahweh has accomplished his wrath, he has poured out his fierce anger; And he has kindled a fire in Zion, which has devoured the foundations thereof.

The breath of our nostrils, the anointed of Yahweh, was taken in their pits; Of whom we said, Under his shadow we shall live among the nations.

And I saw as it were glowing metal, as the appearance of fire inside it round about, from the appearance of his loins and upward; and from the appearance of his loins and downward I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and there was brightness round about him.

Then the Spirit lifted me up, and I heard behind me the voice of a great rushing, [saying], Blessed be the glory of Yahweh from his place.

When I say to the wicked, You shall surely die; and you do not give him warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at your hand.

Yet if you warn the wicked, and he does not turn from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul.
