When the righteous man turns away from his righteousness, and commits iniquity, and dies therein; in his iniquity that he has done he shall die.

Again, when the wicked man turns away from his wickedness that he has committed, and does that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive.

Because he considers, and turns away from all his transgressions that he has committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die.

Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, says the Lord Yahweh. Return, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.

And he cast down his widows, and laid waste their cities; and the land was desolate, and the fullness thereof, because of the noise of his roaring.

And they put him in a cage with hooks, and brought him to the king of Babylon; they brought him into fortresses, that his voice should no more be heard on the mountains of Israel.

And I said to them, Cast away every man the detestable things of his eyes, and do not defile yourselves with the idols of Egypt; I am Yahweh your God.

As for you, O house of Israel, thus says the Lord Yahweh: Go, serve every one his idols, and hereafter also, if you will not listen to me; but my holy name you shall profane no more with your gifts, and with your idols.

For the king of Babylon stood at the parting of the way, at the head of the two ways, to tell his fortune: he shook the arrows to and fro, he consulted the talismans, he looked in the liver.

In his right hand was the reading [for] Jerusalem, to set battering rams, to open the mouth in the slaughter, to lift up the voice with shouting, to set battering rams against the gates, to cast up mounds, to build forts.

Look, the princes of Israel, every one according to his power, have been in you to shed blood.

And one has done a disgusting thing with his neighbor's wife; and another has lewdly defiled his daughter-in-law; and another in you has humbled his sister, his father's daughter.

therefore, look, I will open the side of Moab from the cities, from his cities which are on his frontiers, the glory of the country, Beth-jeshimoth, Baal-meon, and Kiriathaim,

And he shall set his battering engines against your walls, and with his axes he shall break down your towers.

By reason of the abundance of his horses their dust shall cover you: your walls shall shake at the noise of the horsemen, and of the wagons, and of the chariots, when he shall enter into your gates, as men enter into a city wherein is made a breach.

With the hoofs of his horses he shall tread down all your streets; he shall slay your people with the sword; and the pillars of your strength shall go down to the ground.

speak, and say, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Look, I am against you, Pharaoh king of Egypt, the crocodile that lies in the midst of his rivers, that has said, My river is my own, and I have made it for myself.

Son of man, Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon caused his army to serve a great service against Tyre: every head was made bald, and every shoulder was worn; yet he had no wages, nor his army, from Tyre, for the service that he had served against it.

Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: Look, I will give the land of Egypt to Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon; and he shall carry off her multitude, and take her spoil, and take her prey; and it shall be the wages for his army.

I have given him the land of Egypt as his recompense for which he served, because they wrought for me, says the Lord Yahweh.
