When all his money was spent, he was hungry. There was no food in the land.

He went to work for a man in this far away country. His work was to feed pigs.

"The son got up and went to his father. While he was yet a long way off, his father saw him. The father was full of loving-pity for him. He ran and threw his arms around him and kissed him.

But the father said to the workmen he owned, ‘Hurry! Get the best coat and put it on him. Put a ring on his hand and shoes on his feet.

The older brother was angry and would not go into the house. His father went outside and asked him to come in.

The older son said to his father, ‘All these many years I have served you. I have always obeyed what you said. But you never gave me a young goat so I could have a supper and a good time with my friends.

Jesus said to His followers, "There was a rich man who put a boss over his houses and lands. Someone told him that his boss was not using his riches in a right way.

Until John came, you had the writings of the Law and of the early preachers. From that time until now the Good News of the holy nation of God has been preached. Everyone is pushing his way in.

"Whoever divorces his wife and marries another woman is not faithful in marriage and is guilty of sex sins.

He wanted the pieces of food that fell from the table of the rich man. Even dogs came and licked his sores.

He cried out and said, ‘Father Abraham, take pity on me. Send Lazarus. Let him put the end of his finger in water and cool my tongue. I am in much pain in this fire.'

Jesus said to His followers, "For sure, things will come that will make people sin. But it is bad for the person who makes someone else sin.

It would be better for him to have a large rock put around his neck and be thrown into the sea, than that he should cause one of these little ones to sin.

"Watch yourselves! If your brother sins, speak sharp words to him. If he is sorry and turns from his sin, forgive him.

What if he sins against you seven times in one day? If he comes to you and says he is sorry and turns from his sin, forgive him."

"What if you owned a servant who was working in the field or taking care of sheep? Would you say to him when he came in from his work, ‘Come and sit down to eat?'

Jesus went on His way to Jerusalem. He was passing between the countries of Samaria and Galilee.

He got down on his face at the feet of Jesus and thanked Him. He was from the country of Samaria.

Jesus said to His followers, "The time will come when you will wish you could see the Son of Man for one day. But you will not be able to.

In that day the man who is on top of a house should not come down to take his things out of the house. In the same way, the man who is in the field should not go back to his house.
