I will give them a heart to know that I am the Lord , and they shall be my people and I will be their God, for they shall return to me with their whole heart.

They shall drink and stagger and be crazed because of the sword that I am sending among them."

"Then you shall say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Drink, be drunk and vomit, fall and rise no more, because of the sword that I am sending among you.'

For behold, I begin to work disaster at the city that is called by my name, and shall you go unpunished? You shall not go unpunished, for I am summoning a sword against all the inhabitants of the earth, declares the Lord of hosts.'

But as for me, behold, I am in your hands. Do with me as seems good and right to you.

‘Thus says the Lord of hosts, behold, I am sending on them sword, famine, and pestilence, and I will make them like vile figs that are so rotten they cannot be eaten.

because they have done an outrageous thing in Israel, they have committed adultery with their neighbors' wives, and they have spoken in my name lying words that I did not command them. I am the one who knows, and I am witness, declares the Lord .'"

For I am with you to save you, declares the Lord ; I will make a full end of all the nations among whom I scattered you, but of you I will not make a full end. I will discipline you in just measure, and I will by no means leave you unpunished.

With weeping they shall come, and with pleas for mercy I will lead them back, I will make them walk by brooks of water, in a straight path in which they shall not stumble, for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn.

For Zedekiah king of Judah had imprisoned him, saying, "Why do you prophesy and say, ‘Thus says the Lord : Behold, I am giving this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall capture it;

"Behold, I am the Lord , the God of all flesh. Is anything too hard for me?

Therefore, thus says the Lord : Behold, I am giving this city into the hands of the Chaldeans and into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and he shall capture it.

"Thus says the Lord , the God of Israel: Go and speak to Zedekiah king of Judah and say to him, ‘Thus says the Lord : Behold, I am giving this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire.

Therefore, thus says the Lord , the God of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I am bringing upon Judah and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem all the disaster that I have pronounced against them, because I have spoken to them and they have not listened, I have called to them and they have not answered."

And Jeremiah ordered Baruch, saying, "I am banned from going to the house of the Lord ,

And Jeremiah said, "It is a lie; I am not deserting to the Chaldeans." But Irijah would not listen to him, and seized Jeremiah and brought him to the officials.

King Zedekiah said to Jeremiah, "I am afraid of the Judeans who have deserted to the Chaldeans, lest I be handed over to them and they deal cruelly with me."

Do not fear the king of Babylon, of whom you are afraid. Do not fear him, declares the Lord , for I am with you, to save you and to deliver you from his hand.

Behold, I am watching over them for disaster and not for good. All the men of Judah who are in the land of Egypt shall be consumed by the sword and by famine, until there is an end of them.

You said, ‘Woe is me! For the Lord has added sorrow to my pain. I am weary with my groaning, and I find no rest.'
