And he became angry and would not go in; so his father came out and besought him.

He who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery; and he who marries the one who is separated commits adultery.

He longed to fill his stomach with the crumbs that fell from the rich man''s tray; the dogs also came and licked his boils.

And while he was tormented in Sheol, he lifted up his eyes from a distance, and saw Abraham, with Lazarus in his bosom.

And he called in a loud voice and said, O my father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus to dip his finger in water and wet my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

Abraham said to him, My son, remember you received your pleasures when you were living, and Lazarus his hardships; and behold now he is comfortable here, and you are suffering.

AND Jesus said to his disciples, It is impossible but that offences should come; but woe to him by whose hand they come!

It were better for him that an ass'' millstone were hanged on his neck, and he thrown into the sea, than cause one of these little ones to stumble.

And he fell on his face at the feet of Jesus, thanking him; and this one was a Samaritan.

And he said to his disciples, The days will come when you will covet to see one of the days of the Son of man, and you will not see it.

In that day, he who is on the roof and his clothes in the house, will not come down to take them; and he who is in the field will not return back.

He who desires to save his life shall lose it; and he who loses his life shall save it.

Would not God avenge his chosen ones much more, who call upon him day and night, though he has patience with them?

But the publican stood afar off, and he would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but smote his breast, saying, O God, be merciful to me, I am a sinner.

I say to you, that this man went down to his house more righteous than the Pharisee. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled; and everyone who humbles himself will be exalted.
