Therefore, thus says the Lord , assuredly I am going to bring disaster upon them that they cannot escape; though they cry out to me, I will not listen to them.

therefore thus says the Lord of hosts: I am going to punish them; the young men shall die by the sword; their sons and their daughters shall die by famine;

Thus says the Lord concerning all my evil neighbors who touch the heritage that I have given my people Israel to inherit: I am about to pluck them up from their land, and I will pluck up the house of Judah from among them.

Then you shall say to them: Thus says the Lord : I am about to fill all the inhabitants of this land—the kings who sit on David's throne, the priests, the prophets, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem—with drunkenness.

You have rejected me, says the Lord , you are going backward; so I have stretched out my hand against you and destroyed you— I am weary of relenting.

Your words were found, and I ate them, and your words became to me a joy and the delight of my heart; for I am called by your name, O Lord , God of hosts.

And I will make you to this people a fortified wall of bronze; they will fight against you, but they shall not prevail over you, for I am with you to save you and deliver you, says the Lord .

For thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: I am going to banish from this place, in your days and before your eyes, the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride.

I am now sending for many fishermen, says the Lord , and they shall catch them; and afterward I will send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain and every hill, and out of the clefts of the rocks.

"Therefore I am surely going to teach them, this time I am going to teach them my power and my might, and they shall know that my name is the Lord ."

Now, therefore, say to the people of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem: Thus says the Lord : Look, I am a potter shaping evil against you and devising a plan against you. Turn now, all of you from your evil way, and amend your ways and your doings.

You shall say: Hear the word of the Lord , O kings of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem. Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: I am going to bring such disaster upon this place that the ears of everyone who hears of it will tingle.

Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: I am now bringing upon this city and upon all its towns all the disaster that I have pronounced against it, because they have stiffened their necks, refusing to hear my words.

For thus says the Lord : I am making you a terror to yourself and to all your friends; and they shall fall by the sword of their enemies while you look on. And I will give all Judah into the hand of the king of Babylon; he shall carry them captive to Babylon, and shall kill them with the sword.

If I say, "I will not mention him, or speak any more in his name," then within me there is something like a burning fire shut up in my bones; I am weary with holding it in, and I cannot.

Thus you shall say to Zedekiah: Thus says the Lord , the God of Israel: I am going to turn back the weapons of war that are in your hands and with which you are fighting against the king of Babylon and against the Chaldeans who are besieging you outside the walls; and I will bring them together into the center of this city.

And to this people you shall say: Thus says the Lord : See, I am setting before you the way of life and the way of death.

See, I am against you, O inhabitant of the valley, O rock of the plain, says the Lord ; you who say, "Who can come down against us, or who can enter our places of refuge?"

Therefore thus says the Lord of hosts concerning the prophets: "I am going to make them eat wormwood, and give them poisoned water to drink; for from the prophets of Jerusalem ungodliness has spread throughout the land."

Am I a God near by, says the Lord , and not a God far off?
