And Pilate gave sentence that what they asked for should be done.

And he released him that for insurrection and murder had been cast into prison, whom they asked for; but Jesus he delivered up to their will.

But Jesus turning to them said, Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me, but weep for yourselves, and for your children.

For look, the days are coming, in which they shall say, Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bore, and the breasts that never nursed.

For if they do these things in the green tree, what shall be done in the dry?

And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man has done nothing amiss.

-he had not consented to their counsel and deed-[a man] of Arimathaea, a city of the Jews, who was looking for the kingdom of God:

this man went to Pilate, and asked for the body of Jesus.

And they constrained him, saying, Abide with us; for it is toward evening, and the day is now far spent. And he went in to abide with them.

See my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit doesn't have flesh and bones, as you see me having.

And while they still disbelieved for joy, and wondered, he said to them, Have you here anything to eat?

The same came for witness, that he might bear witness of the light, that all might believe through him.

John bears witness of him, and cries out, saying, This was he of whom I said, He that comes after me has become before me: for he was before me.

For of his fullness we all received, and grace for grace.

For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

This is he of whom I said, After me comes a man who has become before me: for he was before me.

And I didn't know him; but that he should be made manifest to Israel, for this cause I came baptizing in water.

His disciples remembered that it was written, Zeal for your house shall eat me up.

But Jesus did not trust himself to them, for that he knew all men,

and because he didn't need that any one should bear witness concerning man; for he himself knew what was in man.
