For every beast of the forest is mine, the cattle on a thousand hills.

"Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord , when I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of man and the seed of beast.

Fields shall be bought in this land of which you are saying, ‘It is a desolation, without man or beast; it is given into the hand of the Chaldeans.'

"Thus says the Lord : In this place of which you say, ‘It is a waste without man or beast,' in the cities of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem that are desolate, without man or inhabitant or beast, there shall be heard again

"Thus says the Lord of hosts: In this place that is waste, without man or beast, and in all of its cities, there shall again be habitations of shepherds resting their flocks.

And concerning Jehoiakim king of Judah you shall say, ‘Thus says the Lord , You have burned this scroll, saying, "Why have you written in it that the king of Babylon will certainly come and destroy this land, and will cut off from it man and beast?"

"For out of the north a nation has come up against her, which shall make her land a desolation, and none shall dwell in it; both man and beast shall flee away.

and say, ‘O Lord , you have said concerning this place that you will cut it off, so that nothing shall dwell in it, neither man nor beast, and it shall be desolate forever.'

"Son of man, when a land sins against me by acting faithlessly, and I stretch out my hand against it and break its supply of bread and send famine upon it, and cut off from it man and beast,

"Or if I bring a sword upon that land and say, Let a sword pass through the land, and I cut off from it man and beast,

"Or if I send a pestilence into that land and pour out my wrath upon it with blood, to cut off from it man and beast,

"For thus says the Lord God : How much more when I send upon Jerusalem my four disastrous acts of judgment, sword, famine, wild beasts, and pestilence, to cut off from it man and beast!
