He said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be to his brothers.

Then he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Shem; and let Canaan be his servant.

It was from these that the people were divided into the Islands of the Gentiles and their main lands; every one after his language, after their families, in their nations.

And the beginning of his kingdom was Babylon, Erech, Akhar, and Caliah, in the land of Sinar.

And Canaan begot Sidon, his first-born, and Heth,

And to Eber were born two sons: the name of the one was Peleg; for in his days the earth was divided; and his brothers name was Joktan.

And Haran died before his father Terah in his native land, in Ur of the Chaldeans.

And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son of Haran, his grandson, and Sarai his daughter-in-law, his son Abrams wife; and they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldeans to go to the land of Canaan: and they came as far as Haran, and they settled there.

And Abram took Sarai his wife and Lot his brothers son and all their possessions which they had gained and the persons that they had gotten in Haran, and they went on their way to the land of Canaan, and to the land of Canaan they came.

And from thence he removed to a mountain on the east of Beth-el, and pitched his tent, having Beth-el on the west, and Ai on the east; and there he built an altar to the LORD and called upon the name of the LORD,

And it came to pass when he was about to enter into Egypt, he said to Sarai his wife, Behold now, I know that you are a woman beautiful to look upon;

And it shall come to pass, when the Egyptians see you, they will say, This is his wife; and they will kill me, but they will spare you.

And it came to pass when Abram entered Egypt, the Egyptians saw that his wife was very beautiful.

And the LORD afflicted Pharaoh and his household with great plagues because of Sarai, Abrams wife.

And Pharaoh charged his men concerning him; and sent him away together with his wife, and all that he had.

AND Abram went up from Egypt, e and his wife and all that he had, and Lot with him, into the south.

And he went on his journey from the south as far as Beth-el, to the place where he had pitched his tent at first, between Beth-el and Ai;

And Lot lifted up his eyes, and saw all the land of Jordan, that it was well watered everywhere, before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, like the garden of God, like the land of Egypt at the entrance of Zoan.

Then Abram removed his tent and came and dwelt by the oak of Mamre which is in Hebron, and built there an altar to the LORD

And they carried away Lot, Abrams brothers son, who dwelt in Sodom, and his goods, and departed.
