Moreover the word of the LORD came to Yirmeyahu the second time, while he was yet shut up in the court of the guard, saying,

When he was in the gate of Binyamin, a captain of the guard was there, whose name was Yeriyah, the son of Shelemyahu, the son of Hananyah; and he laid hold on Yirmeyahu the prophet, saying, You are falling away to the Kasdim.

Then Tzidkiyahu the king commanded, and they committed Yirmeyahu into the court of the guard; and they gave him daily a loaf of bread out of the bakers' street, until all the bread in the city was spent. Thus Yirmeyahu remained in the court of the guard.

Then took they Yirmeyahu, and cast him into the dungeon of Malkiyah the king's son, that was in the court of the guard: and they let down Yirmeyahu with cords. In the dungeon there was no water, but mire; and Yirmeyahu sank in the mire.

So they drew up Yirmeyahu with the cords, and took him up out of the dungeon: and Yirmeyahu remained in the court of the guard.

So Yirmeyahu abode in the court of the guard until the day that Yerushalayim was taken.

Then Nevuzar'adan the captain of the guard carried away captive into Bavel the residue of the people who remained in the city, the deserters also who fell away to him, and the residue of the people who remained.

But Nevuzar'adan the captain of the guard left of the poor of the people, who had nothing, in the land of Yehudah, and gave them vineyards and fields at the same time.

Now Nevukhadretztzar king of Bavel gave charge concerning Yirmeyahu to Nevuzar'adan the captain of the guard, saying,

So Nevuzar'adan the captain of the guard sent, and Nevushazban, Rav-Saris, and Nergal-Sar'etzer, Rav-Mag, and all the chief officers of the king of Bavel;

they sent, and took Yirmeyahu out of the court of the guard, and committed him to Gedalyahu the son of Achikam, the son of Shafan, that he should carry him home: so he lived among the people.

Now the word of the LORD came to Yirmeyahu, while he was shut up in the court of the guard, saying,

The word which came to Yirmeyahu from the LORD, after that Nevuzar'adan the captain of the guard had let him go from Ramah, when he had taken him being bound in chains among all the captives of Yerushalayim and Yehudah, who were carried away captive to Bavel.

The captain of the guard took Yirmeyahu, and said to him, the LORD your God pronounced this evil on this place;

Now while he was not yet gone back, Go back then, [said he], to Gedalyahu the son of Achikam, the son of Shafan, whom the king of Bavel has made governor over the cities of Yehudah, and dwell with him among the people; or go wherever it seems right to you to go. So the captain of the guard gave him victuals and a present, and let him go.

Then Yishma'el carried away captive all the residue of the people who were in Mitzpah, even the king's daughters, and all the people who remained in Mitzpah, whom Nevuzar'adan the captain of the guard had committed to Gedalyahu the son of Achikam; Yishma'el the son of Netanyah carried them away captive, and departed to go over to the children of `Ammon.

the men, and the women, and the children, and the king's daughters, and every person who Nevuzar'adan the captain of the guard had left with Gedalyahu the son of Achikam, the son of Shafan; and Yirmeyahu the prophet, and Barukh the son of Neriyah;

Now in the fifth month, in the tenth day of the month, which was the nineteenth year of king Nevukhadretztzar, king of Bavel, came Nevuzar'adan the captain of the guard, who stood before the king of Bavel, into Yerushalayim:

All the army of the Kasdim, who were with the captain of the guard, broke down all the walls of Yerushalayim round about.

Then Nevuzar'adan the captain of the guard carried away captive of the poorest of the people, and the residue of the people who were left in the city, and those who fell away, who fell to the king of Bavel, and the residue of the multitude.
