Lord , guard me from the power of wicked people; protect me from cruel people who plan to trip me up.

Good sense will protect you; understanding will guard you.

They will guide you when you walk. They will guard you when you sleep. They will speak to you when you are awake.

Obey my commands, and you will live. Guard my teachings as you would your own eyes.

Evil people's lives are like paths covered with thorns and traps. People who guard themselves don't have such problems.
