Because the Scripture saw ahead of time that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, it announced the gospel to Abraham beforehand when it said, "Through you all nationsall the Gentiles">[fn] will be blessed."Genesis 12:3">[fn]Genesis 12:3; 18:18; 22:18; Acts 2:35; Romans 9:17; Galatians 3:22;">[xr]

Now it is obvious that no one is justified in the sight of God by the law, because "The righteous will live by faith."Habakkuk 2:4">[fn]Habakkuk 2:4; Romans 1:17; Galatians 2:16; Hebrews 10:38;">[xr]

This is what I mean: The law that came 430 years later did not cancel the covenant previously ratified by God so as to nullify the promise.Exodus 12:40-41; Romans 4:13,15; Galatians 4:21;">[xr]

For if the inheritance comes by the law, it no longer comes by the promise. But it was by a promise that God so graciously gave it to Abraham.Romans 4:14; 8:17;">[xr]

Now an intermediary involves more than one party, but God has acted on his own.God is one">[fn]Romans 3:29-30;">[xr]

So is the law in conflict with the promises of God? Of course not! For if a law had been given that could give us life, then certainly righteousness would come through the law.Galatians 2:21;">[xr]

But when the fullness of time had come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law,Genesis 3:15; 49:10; Isaiah 7:14; Daniel 9:24; Micah 5:3; Matthew 1:23; 5:17; Mark 1:15; Luke 1:31; John 1:14; Romans 1:3; Ephesians 1:10; Philippians 2:7; Hebrews 2:14;">[xr]

Now because you are his children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into ouryour">[fn] hearts to cry out, "Abba!Abba is Aram. for Father.">[fn] Father!"Romans 5:5; 8:15;">[xr]

However, in the past, when you did not know God, you were slaves to things that are not really gods at all.gods by nature">[fn]Romans 1:25; 1 Corinthians 12:2; Ephesians 2:11-12; 1 Thessalonians 1:9; 4:5;">[xr]

But now that you know God, or rather have been known by God, how can you turn back again to those powerless and bankrupt basic principles?elemental spirits">[fn] Why do you want to become their slaves all over again?Romans 8:3; 1 Corinthians 8:3; 13:12; Galatians 3:3; Colossians 2:20; 2 Timothy 2:19; Hebrews 7:18;">[xr]

Even though my condition put you to the test, you did not despise or reject me. On the contrary, you welcomed me as if I were an angel of God, as Christ Jesus himself.2 Samuel 19:27; Zechariah 12:8; Malachi 2:7; Matthew 10:40; Luke 10:16; John 13:20; 1 Thessalonians 2:13;">[xr]

envy, murder,murder">[fn] drunkenness, wild partying, and things like that. I am telling you now, as I have told you in the past, that people who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.1 Corinthians 6:9; Ephesians 5:5; Colossians 3:6; Revelation 22:15;">[xr]

Stop beingDo not be">[fn] deceived; God is not to be ridiculed. A person harvests whatever he plants.Job 1:13:9; Luke 16:25; Romans 2:6; 1 Corinthians 6:9; 15:33; 2 Corinthians 9:6;">[xr]
