The Lord said to the people of Israel: As surely as I am the living Lord God, I will rule over you with my powerful arm. You will feel my fierce anger

I will separate the sinful rebels from the rest of you, and even though I will bring them from the nations where they live in exile, they won't be allowed to return to Israel. Then you will know that I am the Lord .

When I bring you home from the places where you are now scattered, I will be pleased with you, just as I am pleased with the smell of the smoke from your sacrifices. Every nation on earth will see that I am holy,

and you will know that I, the Lord , am the one who brought you back to Israel, the land I promised your ancestors.

so you deserve to be punished. But I will treat you in a way that will bring honor to my name, and you will know that I am the Lord God.

that I am about to punish them. I will pull out my sword and have it ready to kill everyone, whether good or evil.

I am testing my people, and they can do nothing to stop me. I, the Lord , have spoken.

Ezekiel, tell the people of Jerusalem and their ruler that I, the Lord God, am saying: Everything you do is wicked and shows how sinful you are. You are guilty and will be taken away as prisoners.

The Lord God said: Ezekiel, son of man, the Ammonites have insulted Israel, so condemn them and tell them I am saying: A sword is drawn, ready to slaughter; it is polished and prepared to kill as fast as lightning.

and tell them I am saying: Jerusalem, you have murdered many of your own people and have worshiped idols. You will soon be punished!

So I am going to bring them together in Jerusalem.

Ezekiel, son of man, tell the people of Israel that their country is full of sin, and that I, the Lord , am furious!

So in my fierce anger, I will punish the Israelites for what they have done, and they will know that I am furious. I, the Lord , have spoken.

I am angry with you, so I will let them be very cruel. They will cut off your nose and ears; they will kill your children and put to death anyone in your family who is still alive.

I, the Lord God, am ready to hand you over to those hateful enemies that you find so disgusting.

You will be punished for becoming prostitutes and for worshiping idols, and you will know that I am the Lord God.

I am a warning sign—everything I have done, you will also do. And then you will know the Lord God has made these things happen.

Then you will be able to speak again, and the two of you will talk. You will be a warning sign to the people, and they will know that I am the Lord ."

Now I am going to let you be conquered by tribes from the eastern desert. They will set up their camps in your land and eat your fruit and drink your milk.

Your capital city of Rabbah will be nothing but pastureland for camels, and the rest of the country will be pastures for sheep. Then you will know that I am the Lord God.
