He trusts in God; let God rescue him now—if he takes pleasure in him! For he said, ‘I am the Son of God.’”

Jesus went with them, and when he was not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to tell him, “Lord, don’t trouble yourself, since I am not worthy to have you come under my roof.

For I too am a man placed under authority, having soldiers under my command. I say to this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”

While he was praying in private and his disciples were with him, he asked them, “Who do the crowds say that I am?”

For who is greater, the one at the table or the one serving? Isn’t it the one at the table? But I am among you as the one who serves.

And look, I am sending you

He didn’t deny it but confessed: “I am not the Messiah.”

He said, “I am a voice of one crying out in the wilderness: Make straight the way of the Lord—just as Isaiah the prophet said.”
