But there were some of them, particularly some cowboys from Cyprus and Cyrene, who started telling Greeks about the good news of Jesus Christ.

But Elymas, the witch doctor (that's what his name means in the plain tongue), rode right in front of the two cowboys and tried to cut them off before the governor could talk to them. He urged his boss not to listen to the cowboy's nonsense. He knew he'd be ruined if the governor started believing in God.

But this had to happen to fulfill all the things in the Good Book that had been predicted.

But God reached down and snatched him from the grave,

But there were some hard-headed Jews who refused to believe and they riled up some of the mavericks in the area and poisoned their minds against the two cowboys.

But when the cowboys, Paul and Barnabas, realized what was happening, they tore their hats from their heads, threw them down, and said,

While Paul and Barnabas were still in Antioch in Syria, some cowboys showed up from the country around Jerusalem. These cowboys began giving clinics on how to ride for God, but they were telling people, "You've got to have the tip of your pickle clipped like the code of Moses says if you want to be saved. If you ain't got a clipped pickle, then you ain't saved."

But then some Pharisees, who believed in Jesus while also wanting to follow the code of Moses, stood up and said, "The Gentiles, or mavericks as you call them, must be circumcised and follow the code of Moses if they want to be saved."

So here's my question, cowboys. Why are y'all now bucking the way God does things and putting a load on the new cowboys' backs that we couldn't carry ourselves? We couldn't follow the code of Moses either, but you want these new cowboys to do what can't be done? That's insane!
