That disciple whom Jesus kept loving said to Peter, "It's the Lord!" When Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put back on his clothes, for he was practically naked, and jumped into the sea.John 13:23; 20:2;">[xr]

Then Jesus said to them, "Come, have breakfast." Now none of the disciples dared to ask him, "Who are you?", for they knew it was the Lord.Acts 10:41;">[xr]

Jesus said to him, "If it is my will for him to remain until I come, how does that concern you? You must keep following me!"Matthew 16:27-28; 25:31; 1 Corinthians 4:5; 11:26; Revelation 2:25; 3:11;">[xr]

So the rumor spread among the brothers[fn] that this disciple wasn't going to die. Yet Jesus didn't say to him that he wasn't going to die, but, "If it is my will for him to remain until I come, how does that concern you?"

While he was meeting with them, he ordered them, "Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the Father's promise, about which you heard me speak.Luke 24:43,49; John 14:16,26-27,49; 15:26; 16:7; Acts 2:33;">[xr]

For John baptized within">[fn] water, but you will be baptized within">[fn] the Holy Spirit not many days from now."Joel 3:18; Matthew 3:11; Acts 2:4; 11:15-16; 19:4;">[xr]

He answered them, "It is not for you to know what times or periods the Father has set by his own authority.Matthew 24:36; Mark 13:32; 1 Thessalonians 5:1;">[xr]

For he was one of our number and was chosen to share in this ministry."Matthew 10:4; Luke 6:16; Acts 2:25; 12:25; 20:24; 21:19;">[xr]

(Now this man bought a field with the money he got for his crime. Falling on his face, he burst open in the middle, and all his intestines gushed out.Matthew 26:15; 2 Peter 2:15;">[xr]

So they drew lots for them, and when the lot fell on Matthias, he was added to the eleven apostles.

These men are not drunk as you suppose, for it's only nine o'clock in the morning.the third hour of the day">[fn]1 Thessalonians 5:7;">[xr]

For you will not abandon my soul to Hades[fn] or allow your Holy One to experience decay.
