After Jesus called the crowd to him, he said, "Listen and understand what I am saying.

And in the morning you say that it will be a rainy day, because the sky is dark and red. You see these signs in the sky and know what they mean. In the same way, you see the things that I am doing now, but you don't know their meaning.

I was not talking to you about bread. Why don't you understand that? I am telling you to beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and the Sadducees."

Then Jesus asked them, "And who do you say I am?"

Jesus answered, "You are blessed, Simon son of Jonah, because no person taught you that. My Father in heaven showed you who I am.

While Peter was talking, a bright cloud covered them. A voice came from the cloud and said, "This is my Son, whom I love, and I am very pleased with him. Listen to him!"

This is true because if two or three people come together in my name, I am there with them."

But the man who owned the vineyard said to one of those workers, ‘Friend, I am being fair to you. You agreed to work for one coin.

I can do what I want with my own money. Are you jealous because I am good to those people?'

But Jesus said, "You don't understand what you are asking. Can you drink the cup that I am about to drink?" The sons answered, "Yes, we can."

God said, ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.' God is the God of the living, not the dead."

So I tell you this: I am sending to you prophets and wise men and teachers. Some of them you will kill and crucify. Some of them you will beat in your synagogues and chase from town to town.

Many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,' and they will fool many people.

This made the followers very sad. Each one began to say to Jesus, "Surely, Lord, I am not the one who will turn against you, am I?"

Then Judas, who would give Jesus to his enemies, said to Jesus, "Teacher, surely I am not the one, am I?" Jesus answered, "Yes, it is you."

When Pilate saw that he could do nothing about this and that a riot was starting, he took some water and washed his hands in front of the crowd. Then he said, "I am not guilty of this man's death. You are the ones who are causing it!"

He trusts in God, so let God save him now, if God really wants him. He himself said, ‘I am the Son of God.'"

This is what John preached to the people: "There is one coming after me who is greater than I; I am not good enough even to kneel down and untie his sandals.

and a voice came from heaven: "You are my Son, whom I love, and I am very pleased with you."

After Jesus called the crowd to him again, he said, "Every person should listen to me and understand what I am saying.
