Yet now you are obsessed with the judgment due the wicked;judgment and justice have seized you.

Yet out of the north he comes, shrouded in a golden glow;awesome majesty surrounds him.

My God, I cry by day, but you do not answer,by night, yet I have no rest.

They will come and declare his righteousness;to a people yet to be bornthey will declare what he has done.

Yet when they were sick,my clothing was sackcloth;I humbled myself with fasting,and my prayer was genuine.

I have been young and now I am old,yet I have not seen the righteous abandonedor his children begging for bread.

Yet these cannot redeem a personor pay his ransom to God—

Yet I am always with you;you hold my right hand.

so that a future generation—children yet to be born—might know.They were to rise and tell their children

Yet he was compassionate;he atoned for their iniquityand did not destroy them.He often turned his anger asideand did not unleash all his wrath.

This will be written for a later generation,and a people who have not yet been created will praise the Lord:

Yet he saved them for his name’s sake,to make his power known.

My life is constantly in danger,yet I do not forget your instruction.

One person gives freely,yet gains more;another withholds what is right,only to become poor.

Better to be disregarded, yet have a servant,than to act important but have no food.

The slacker craves, yet has nothing,but the diligent is fully satisfied.

A person’s own foolishness leads him astray,yet his heart rages against the Lord.

It is not good to show partiality—yet even a courageous person may sin for a piece of bread.

There is a generation that is pure in its own eyes,yet is not washed from its filth.
