So are the paths of all who forget God; and the hope of the heathen shall perish;

Truly, I know that it is so; but how can a man be declared innocent before God?

Why am I so afflicted, and why is my life exposed to danger?

So man who lies down does not rise again; until the heavens are no more, they shall not awake, nor be roused out of their sleep.

The waters wear away the stones and wash away the soil of the earth; so thou destroyest the hope of man.

He has fenced up my ways so that I cannot pass, and he has set darkness in my paths.

Thick clouds are a covering to him, so that men cannot see him; and he walks upon the circle of the heaven.

How have you counselled him who has no wisdom? And how have you expounded so many doctrines?

My righteousness I hold fast, and will not let it go; my heart shall not reproach me so long as I live.

But as for you, I will deliver you into the hand of God; so that your works may not be hid from him.

SO these three men who wanted to condemn Job ceased answering him, because he was found righteous in their eyes.

Then Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite, of the family of Ram, was angry; so his wrath against Job kindled, because he justified himself more than God.

His wrath also kindled against his three friends, because they had found no answer to Job so that they might condemn him.

So that you could not say, We have found wisdom. God has smitten him, not man.

They were silent, they answered him no more; their words were all spent, so they held their peace;

I will speak so that I may find relief; I will open my lips and answer.

So that his flesh fails because of his fear, and his soul is not satisfied with bread, and covets food.

His flesh is wasted away because of his fear, so that a greater part of his bones can he seen.

Even so he shall deliver you from the mouth of the mocker, and give you rest instead of distress; and he shall prepare a table with rich food.

So that their bodies shall be turned into clay, and be thrown into a heap.
