Look, I will move back the shadow of the steps, which has gone down on the steps from the Upper House of Ahaz - [I will move back] the sun backward ten steps. So the sun returned ten steps on the steps whereon it was gone down.

I quieted [myself] until morning; as a lion, so he breaks all my bones: From day even to night you will make an end of me.

Like a swallow [or] a crane, so I chattered; I moaned as a dove; my eyes fail [with looking] upward: O Lord, I am oppressed, be my surety.

So the carpenter encourages the goldsmith, [and] he that smoothes with the hammer him that smites the anvil, saying of the soldering, It is good; and he fastens it with nails, that it should not be moved.

And you said, I shall be mistress forever; so that you did not lay these things to your heart, neither remembered the latter end thereof.

For I am Yahweh your God, who stirs up the sea, so that the waves thereof roar: Yahweh of hosts is his name.

Just as many were astonished at you, so [is his] anointing more than a man, his appearance and form more than sons of man.

So he will sprinkle many nations; kings will shut their mouths at him: for that which had not been told to them they will see; and that which they had not heard they will understand.

He was oppressed, yet when he was afflicted he didn't open his mouth; as a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and as a sheep that before its shearers is mute, so he didn't open his mouth.

For this is [as] the waters of Noah to me; for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah shall no more go over the earth, so I have sworn that I will not be angry with you, nor rebuke you.

For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

so shall my word be that goes forth out of my mouth: it shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

Look, you fast for strife and contention, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: you do not fast this day so as to make your voice to be heard on high.

but your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, so that he will not hear.

So they shall fear the name of Yahweh from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun; for he will come as a rushing stream, which the breath of Yahweh drives.

Whereas you have been forsaken and hated, so that no man passed through you, I will make you an eternal excellency, a joy of many generations.

For as the earth brings forth its bud, and as the garden causes the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord Yahweh will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.

For as a young man takes possession of a virgin, so shall your sons take possession of you; and as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you.

For he said, Surely, they are my people, sons that will not deal falsely: so he was their Savior.

that led them through the depths, as a horse in the wilderness, so that they didn't stumble?
