And they came near to him and said, We will build sheepfolds here for our livestock, and cities for our little ones.

For we will not inherit with them on the other side of the Jordan, and beyond; for our inheritance has fallen to us eastward on this side of Jordan.

And Moses said to them, If you will do this thing; if you will arm for battle before Jehovah,

Build cities for your little ones, and folds for your sheep and do that which has come out of your mouth.

But your servants will go over, every man armed for war, before Jehovah to battle, as my lord says.

even Moses said to them, If the sons of Gad and the sons of Reuben pass over the Jordan with you each armed for battle before Jehovah, and the land shall be subdued before you, then you shall give to them the land of Gilead for a possession.

and Beth-nimrah, and Beth-haran, fortified cities, and folds for sheep.

And they pulled up stakes from Alush and camped in Rephidim; and no water was there for the people to drink.

And you shall possess the land, and live in it, for I have given you the land, to possess it.

These are the names of the men that shall take possession of the land for you: Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun.

Command the sons of Israel that they give to the Levites cities to live in, from the land of their possessions, and you shall give to the Levites open land for the cities.

And they shall have the cities to live in, and their open lands shall be for their livestock, and for their substance, and for all their animals.

And you shall measure outside the city for the east side two thousand cubits, and for the south side two thousand cubits, and on the north side two thousand cubits, and for the west side two thousand cubits; the city being in the middle. Thisshall be to them the open land around the cities.

And the cities which you shall give to the Levites shall be the six cities of refuge which you shall give for the manslayer that he may flee there; and besides them you shall give forty two cities.

then you shall choose cities to be cities of refuge for you, so that the manslayer may flee there, he that kills a person through error.

And the cities shall be to you for refuge from the kinsman avenger, that the manslayer may not die until he stands before the congregation for judgment.

As to the cities which you shall give six shall be cities of refuge for you.
