For we will not inherit with them on the other side of the Jordan or beyond; because we have already received our inheritance on this side of the Jordan eastward.

And Moses said to them, If you will do this thing and arm yourselves before the LORD for war,

Build cities for your little ones and folds for your sheep; and do that which you have promised.

But your servants will pass over, every man armed for war, before the LORD for battle, as our lord said.

And Moses said to them, If the children of Reuben and the children of Gad will cross with you over the Jordan, every man armed for battle before the LORD, and the land shall be subdued before you, then you shall give them the land of Gilead for a possession;

Beth-nimrah and Beth-hauran, fenced cities and folds for sheep.

And they departed from Alush and encamped at Rephidim, where there was no water for the people to drink.

And you shall possess the land and dwell therein; for I have given you the land to possess it.

And you shall divide the land by lot for an inheritance among your families; and to the large families you shall give a large inheritance, and to the small families you shall give a small inheritance; every mans inheritance shall be in the place where his lot falls; according to the tribes of their fathers they shall inherit.

Command the children of Israel and say to them, When you enter the land of Canaan (this is the land which shall be divided to you for an inheritance, even the land of Canaan with its territories),

And as for the western border, you shall have the Great Sea and its coasts; this shall be your western border.

And this shall be your northern border: from the Great Sea you shall mark out for you a boundary to mount Hor;

For the tribe of the children of Reuben according to the house of their fathers, and the tribe of the children of Gad according to the house of their fathers, and the half tribe of Manasseh, have received their inheritance;

These are the names of the men who shall divide the land to you for an inheritance: Eleazar the priest and Joshua the son of Nun.

And the cities they shall have to dwell in; and their suburbs shall be for their cattle and for their herds and for all their beasts.

And among the cities which you shall give to the Levites, six cities shall be set aside for you for refuge, that the manslayer who had slain his neighbor without intent may flee thither; and to them you shall add forty-two other cities.

Then you shall select for yourselves cities to he cities of refuge for you; that the person who kills someone unawares may flee there.

And they shall be to you cities for refuge from the avenger, that the manslayer may not be killed until he stand before the congregation in judgment.

And of these cities which you shall give, six cities shall you have for refuge.

These six cities shall be for refuge, both for the children of Israel and for the proselytes and for the sojourner among them; that every one who kills any person unawares may flee there.
