And it grew, and became a spreading vine of low stature, whose branches turned toward him, and the roots thereof were under him: so it became a vine, and brought forth branches, and shot forth sprigs.

And fire has gone out of the rods of its branches, it has devoured its fruit, so that there is in it no strong rod to be a scepter to rule. This is a lamentation, and shall be for a lamentation.

So I caused them to go forth out of the land of Egypt, and brought them into the wilderness.

Then I said to them, What is the high place to where you go? So the name thereof is called Bamah to this day.

Like I entered into judgment with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so I will enter into judgment with you, says the Lord Yahweh.

Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: Because you have made your iniquity to be remembered, in that your transgressions are uncovered, so that in all your doings your sins appear; because you have come to remembrance, you shall be taken with the hand.

As they gather silver and bronze and iron and lead and tin into the midst of the furnace, to blow the fire on it, to melt it; so I will gather you in my anger and in my wrath, and I will lay you there, and melt you.

As silver is melted in the midst of the furnace, so you shall be melted in the midst thereof; and you shall know that I, Yahweh, have poured out my wrath on you.

So she uncovered her prostitution, and uncovered her nakedness: then my soul was alienated from her, like my soul was alienated from her sister.

Thus I will make your lewdness to cease from you, and your prostitution [brought] from the land of Egypt; so that you shall not lift up your eyes to them, nor remember Egypt anymore.

And they went in to her, as they go in to a prostitute: so went they in to Oholah and to Oholibah, the lewd women.

So I spoke to the people in the morning; and at evening my wife died; and I did in the morning as I was commanded.

And the people said to me, Will you not tell us what these things are to us, that you do so?

In that day your mouth shall be opened to him that has escaped, and you shall speak, and be mute no more: so you shall be a sign to them; and they shall know that I am Yahweh.

I made it fair by the multitude of its branches, so that all the trees of Eden, that were in the garden of God, envied it.

So you, son of man, I have set you a watchman to the house of Israel; therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.

And I will make the land a desolation and an astonishment; and the pride of her power shall cease; and the mountains of Israel shall be desolate, so that none shall pass through.
