And they sat down to eat bread; and they lifted up their eyes and looked, and, behold, a caravan of Arabians coming from Gilead, with their camels bearing gum, balm and myrrh, and they were on their way to carry it down to Egypt.

Then some Midianite merchants passed by; and they drew and lifted up Joseph out of the pit, and sold Joseph to the Arabians for twenty pieces of silver; and they brought him into Egypt.

And they took Josephs robe, and killed a kid of the goats, and dipped the robe in the blood;

And they sent the robe with long sleeves, and they brought it to their father; and said, This we have found: know now whether it be your sons coat or not.

Then he asked the men of the place, saying, Where is the harlot who sat at the parting of the road? And they said, There is no harlot here.

When they brought her out, she sent to her father-in-law, saying, By the man to whom these articles belong, I am with child; and she said, Determine whose they are, the ring, the robe, and the staff.

And the keeper of the prison intrusted to Josephs care all the prisoners who were in the prison; and he was in charge of whatever they did there.

And the commander of the guard charged Joseph with them, and he served them; and they remained for some time in the prison.

And they both dreamed, each man his own dream in the same night, each man according to the interpretation of his dream, the butler and the baker of the king of Egypt, who were bound in the prison.

And Joseph came in to them in the morning, and saw them, and behold, they were sad.

And they said to him, We have dreamed a dream, and there is no one to interpret it. And Joseph said to them, Behold, the interpretations belong to God; tell them to me.

For indeed I was stolen away out of the land of the Hebrews; and here also I have done nothing that they should put me into the prison.

And, behold, there came up out of the river seven beautiful and fat cows; and they fed in a meadow.

Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they brought him hastily out of the dungeon; and he shaved himself, and changed his clothes, and came in before Pharaoh.

And when they had eaten them up, it could not be known that they had eaten them: for they were still ill-favored, as at the beginning. Then I awoke.

And he made him to ride in another chariot which belonged to him; and they cried before him, Father and governor! Thus he made him governor over all the land of Egypt.

And Joseph saw his brothers and recognized them, but he deceived them and spoke harshly to them; and he said to them, Where have you come from? And they said, We came from the land of Canaan to buy grain.

And Joseph recognized his brothers, but they did not recognize him.

And they said to him, No, our lord, but to buy grain your servants have come.
