He shall build a house for My Name, and I shall establish the throne of his kingdom forever.

And now, O Jehovah God, establish the Word which You have spoken concerning Your servant, and concerning his house, forever. And do as You have spoken.

For You, O Jehovah of Hosts, the God of Israel, You have uncovered the ear of Your servant, saying, I will build a house for you. On account of this Your servant has found his heart to pray to You this prayer.

And David struck Hadadezer the son of Rehob, king of Zobah, as he went to restore his power at the River.

And Toi sent his son Joram to King David to ask of his peace, and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer and struck him. For Hadadezer had been a man of wars against Toi. And in his hand were silver articles, and golden articles,and bronze articles.

And David reigned over all Israel, and David executed justice and righteousness to all his people.

And the house of Saul had a servant, and his name was Ziba. And they called him to David. And the king said to him, Are you Ziba? And he said, Your servant!

And Mephibosheth the son of Jonathan the son of Saul came to David and fell on his face, and prostrated himself. And David said, Mephibosheth! And he said, Behold, your servant.

And the king called to Ziba the servant of Saul, and said to him, All that belonged to Saul and to all his house, I have given to the son of your lord.

And Ziba said to the king, According to all that my lord the king commands his servant, so your servant will do. And Mephibosheth was eating at my table like one of the king's sons.

And Mephibosheth had a young son, and his name was Micha. And everyone living in Ziba's house were servants to Mephibosheth.

And Mephibosheth lived in Jerusalem, for he ate continually at the table of the king. And he was lame in both his feet.

And it happened afterward, the king of the Ammonites died. And his son Hanun reigned in his place.

And David said, I will show kindness to Hanun the son of Nahash, as his father showed kindness to me. And David sent to comfort him concerning his father by the hand of his servants. And David's servants came into the land of the sons of Ammon.

And the leaders of the sons of Ammon said to their lord Hanun. Is David honoring your father in your eyes, because he has sent comforters to you? Has not David sent his servants to you to search the city, and to spy it out, and to overthrowit?

And the rest of the people he gave into the hand of his brother Abishai, and he set in order to meet the sons of Ammon.

Be strong, and let us be strong for our people, and for the cities of our God. And may Jehovah do that which seems good in His eyes.

And it happened at the turn of the year, at the time when kings go out, David sent Joab and his servants with him, and all Israel. And they destroyed the sons of Ammon, and lay siege to Rabbah. But David remained at Jerusalem.

And it happened at evening time, David rose up from his bed and walked up and down on the roof of the king's house. And he saw from the roof a woman bathing. And the woman was very good of form.

Uriah lay down at the entrance of the king's house, with all the servants of his lord. And he did not go down to his house.
