And he built there an altar, and called the place Beth-el (the house of God), because there God appeared to him when he fled from the presence of his brother Esau.

And God appeared to Jacob again, when he came from Padan-aram, and blessed him.

And God said to him. Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel shall be your name; so he called his name Israel.

And God said to him. I am God Almighty; be fruitful and multiply: a people and a multitude of peoples shall come from you, and kings shall come out of your loins;

And God went up from him in the place where he talked with him.

And Jacob called the name of the place where God spoke with him, Beth-el.

There is no one greater in this house than I; neither has he kept back anything from me except yourself, because you are his wife; how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?

And they said to him, We have dreamed a dream, and there is no one to interpret it. And Joseph said to them, Behold, the interpretations belong to God; tell them to me.

And Joseph answered and said to Pharaoh, Do you think, perhaps, that without God I am able to give Pharaoh an answer that everything will be well?

And Joseph said to Pharaoh, The dream of Pharaoh is one; God has shown Pharaoh what he is about to do.

It is the thing which I told Pharaoh; what God is about to do he has shown to Pharaoh.

And as for that the dream was repeated to Pharaoh twice; it is because the thing is already prepared by God, and God will hasten to bring it to pass.

And Pharaoh said to his servants, Can we find such a man as this, in whom the Spirit of God is?

Then Pharaoh said to Joseph. Forasmuch as God has shown you all this, there is none so wise and discreet as you are:

And Joseph called the name of his first-born Manasseh; For God, said he, has made me forget all my troubles, and all my fathers house.

And the name of the second he called Ephraim; For God has made me to be fruitful in the land of my affliction.

And on the third day Joseph said to them, Do this, and live; for I worship God;

And he said to his brothers, My money has been returned; and, lo, it is in the mouth of my sack; and their hearts failed them, and they were amazed, staring at one another, saying, What is this that God has done to us?

And may God Almighty give you mercy before the man, that he may send away your other brother, and Benjamin with you. And as for me, if I am bereaved of my children, I am bereaved.

He said to them, Peace be to you, fear not; your God, and the God of your father, has put a treasure in your sacks; I had your money. And he brought Simeon out to them.
