When they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up from the bottomless pit will wage war against them, conquer them, and kill them.Daniel 7:21; Zechariah 14:2; Luke 13:32; Revelation 9:2; 17:8;">[xr]

Then the dragonit; other mss. read I">[fn] stood on the sand of the seashore. I saw a beast coming out of the sea. It had ten horns, seven heads, and ten royal crowns on its horns. On its heads were blasphemous names.Daniel 7:2,7; Revelation 12:3;">[xr]

The beast that I saw was like a leopard. Its feet were like bear's feet, and its mouth was like a lion's mouth. The dragon gave it his power, his throne, and complete authority.Daniel 7:4-6; Revelation 12:4,9; 16:10;">[xr]

They worshiped the dragon because it had given authority to the beast. They also worshiped the beast, saying, "Who is like the beast, and who can fight a war with it?"Revelation 18:18;">[xr]

The beast was allowedwas given a mouth">[fn] to speak arrogant and blasphemous things, and it was given authority for forty-two months.Daniel 7:8,11, 25; 11:36; Revelation 11:2; 12:6;">[xr]

Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth. It had two horns like a lamb and it talked like a dragon.Revelation 11:7;">[xr]

It uses all the authority of the first beast on its behalf,in its presence">[fn] and it makes the earth and those living on it worship the first beast, whose fatal wound was healed.Revelation 13:3;">[xr]

It deceives those living on earth with the signs that it is allowed to do on behalf ofin the presence of">[fn] the firstfirst">[fn] beast, telling them to make an image for the beast who was wounded by a sword and yet lived.2 Kings 20:7; 2 Thessalonians 2:9-10; Revelation 12:9; 19:20;">[xr]

The second beastIt">[fn] was allowed to give breath to the image of the firstfirst">[fn] beast so that the image of the beast could talk and put to death those who would not worship the image of the beast.Revelation 16:2; 19:20; 20:4;">[xr]

This calls for wisdom: Let the person who has understanding figure out the number of the beast, because it is the number of a person.it is a human number">[fn] Its number is 666.616">[fn]Revelation 15:2; 17:9; 21:17;">[xr]

Then another angel, a third one, followed them, saying in a loud voice, "Whoever worships the beast and its image and receives a mark on his forehead or his handRevelation 13:14-16;">[xr]

The smoke from their torture goes up forever and ever. There is no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and its image or for anyone who receives the mark of its name."Isaiah 34:10; Revelation 19:3;">[xr]

Then I saw what looked like a sea of glass mixed with fire. Those who had conquered the beast, its image, and the number of its name were standing on the sea of glass holding God's harps in their hands.Matthew 3:11; Revelation 4:6; 5:8; 13:15-17; 14:2; 21:18;">[xr]

So the first angel went and poured his bowl on the earth. A horrible, painful sore appeared on the people who had the mark of the beast and worshiped the image.Exodus 9:9-11; Revelation 8:7;">[xr]

The fifth angel poured his bowl on the throne of the beast. Its kingdom was plunged into darkness. PeopleThey">[fn] gnawed on their tongues in anguishRevelation 9:2; 11:10; 13:2;">[xr]

Then I saw three disgusting spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.1 John 4:1-3; Revelation 12:3,9; 19:20; 20:10;">[xr]

Then the angelhe">[fn] carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness. I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that was filled with blasphemous names. It had seven heads and ten horns.Revelation 12:3,6, 14;">[xr]

The angel said to me, "Why are you surprised? I will tell you the secret of the woman and the beast with the seven heads and the ten horns that carries her.

The beast that you saw once was, is no longer, and is going to come from the bottomless pit and go to its destruction. Those living on earth, whose names were not written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world, will be surprised when they see the beast because it was, is no longer, and will come again.Revelation 11:7;">[xr]

The beast that was and is no longer is the eighth king,king">[fn] but it belongs with the seven kingskings">[fn] and goes to its destruction.Revelation 17:8;">[xr]
