1 John 3

   |

1 See what great love(F1) the Father has given us that we should be called God’s children—and we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it didn’t know him.

1 Beholde, what manner of loue the Father hath bestowed vpon vs, that wee should be called the sonnes of God: therfore the world knoweth vs not, because it knewe him not.

1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

1 See (a)what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called (b)children of God; and so we are. The reason why (c)the world does not know us is that (d)it did not know him.

Children of God Love One Another

1 See (F1)(C1)how great a love the Father has given us, that we would be called (C2)children of God; and in fact we are. For this reason the world does not know us: because (C3)it did not know Him.

We Are God's Children

1 The Father has loved us so much that we are called children of God. And we really are his children. The reason the people in the world do not know us is that they have not known him.

1 What marvelous love the Father has extended to us! Just look at it—we're called children of God! That's who we really are. But that's also why the world doesn't recognize us or take us seriously, because it has no idea who he is or what he's up to.

Children of God Love One Another

1 See (F1)(C1)how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we would be called (C2)children of God; and such we are. For this reason the world does not know us, because (C3)it did not know Him.

Children of God

1 Behold what manner of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God. And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know Him.

1 Think how much the Father loves us. He loves us so much that he lets us be called his children, as we truly are. But since the people of this world did not know who Christ[a] is, they don't know who we are.

1 See what love the Father has lavished on us in letting us be called God's children! For that is what we are. The reason the world does not know us is that it has not known him.

1 See what love the Father has given to us, that we should be called [the] children of God. For this reason the world knows us not, because it knew him not.

We Are God's Children

1 The Father has loved us so much! This shows how much he loved us: We are called children of God. And we really are his children. But the people in the world don't understand that we are God's children, because they have not known him.

1 Beholde, what loue the Father hath giuen to vs, that we should be called the sonnes of God: for this cause this world knoweth you not, because it knoweth not him.

1 SEE how abundant the love of the Fa ther is toward us, for he has called us sons and made us: therefore the world does not know us because it did not know him.

Children of God

1 (a)See how much the Father has loved us! His love is so great that we are called God's children—and so, in fact, we are. This is why the world does not know us: it has not known God.

1 See what sort of love the Father has given to us: that we should be called children of God, and we are! Because of this the world does not know us: because it did not know him.

1 See what manner of love the Father has given us, that we may be called children of God. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.

Children of God Love One Another

1 See (C1)what an incredible quality of love the Father has shown to us, that we would be permitted to be named and called and counted the (C2)children of God! And so we are! For this reason the world does not know us, because (C3)it did not know Him.

1 Behold what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called children of God; and such we are. For this cause the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

1 See what great love the Father has given us in naming us the children of God; and such we are. For this reason the world does not see who we are, because it did not see who he was.

1 Behold, how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! For this cause the world doesn't know us, because it didn't know him.

1 See what kind of love the Father has given us in letting us be called God's children! Yet that is what we are.[fn] For this reason the world does not recognize us, because it did not recognize him either.[xr]

1 And see how great is the love of the Father toward us, that sons he hath called us, and also made us ! Therefore the world doth not know us, because that it hath also not known him.

1

1 And ye see, how great is the love of the Father towards us, who hath called us sons, and made us [fn] . Therefore the world knoweth us not, because it likewise knoweth him not.

1 Beholde what loue the father hath shewed on vs, that we shoulde be called the sonnes of god: For this cause the worlde knoweth you not, because it knoweth not hym.

1 Behold what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called children of God: and [such] we are. For this cause the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

1 Behold, how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! For this cause the world doesn't know us, because it didn't know him.

1 Behold what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the Sons of God; therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

1 See what marvellous love the Father has bestowed upon us--that we should be called God's children: and that is what we are. For this reason the world does not recognize us--because it has not known Him.

1 Se ye what maner charite the fadir yaf to vs, that we be named the sones of God, and ben hise sones. For this thing the world knewe not vs, for it knew not hym.

1 Look at what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God; and [such] we are. For this cause the world doesn't know us, because it did not know him.

1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

1 (See what sort of love the Father has given to us: that we should be called God's children—and indeed we are! For this reason the world does not know us: because it did not know him.

1 Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! [fn] Therefore the world does not know us, [fn] because it did not know Him.

1 See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are! But the people who belong to this world don't recognize that we are God's children because they don't know him.

We Are God's Children

1 See what great love the Father has for us that He would call us His children. And that is what we are. For this reason the people of the world do not know who we are because they did not know Him.

1 See what love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God; and that is what we are. The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.

1 Behold, what manner of love, the Father hath bestowed upon us - that, children of God, we should be called, - and such we are! Therefore, the world understandeth us not, because it understood not him.

1 Behold what manner of charity the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called and should be the sons of God. Therefore the world knoweth not us, because it knew not him.

1 See what love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him.

1 Beholde what love the father hath shewed on vs that we shuld be called the sonnes of god. For this cause the worlde knoweth you not because it knoweth not him.

1 See ye what love the Father hath given to us, that children of God we may be called; because of this the world doth not know us, because it did not know Him;

1 See what love the Father has given to us, that we may be called children of God; because of this the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.

1 Beholde what loue the father hath shewed on vs, yt we shulde be called the childre of God. Therfore ye worlde knoweth you not, because it knoweth not him.

1 Consider what proof the father has given us of his love, in allowing us to be called the sons of God: therefore the world does not know us, because it knew him not.

1 God has showered us with his love like a spring rain on dry ground. He loves us so much he calls us his own kids. And if God says it, it is so. That's why the world treats us like it does. The world doesn't know God and doesn't know us. 2 Dear friends, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet been revealed.(C1) We know that when he appears,(F1) we will be like him(C2) because we will see him as he is.(C3) 2 Beloued, now are we the sonnes of God, and it doeth not yet appeare, what wee shall be: but wee know, that when he shall appeare, we shall bee like him: for we shall see him as he is.

2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. 2 Beloved, we are (e)God's children (f)now, and what we will be (g)has not yet appeared; but we know that (h)when he appears[a] (i)we shall be like him, because (j)we shall see him as he is.2 (C1)Beloved, now we are (C2)children of God, and (C3)it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He (C4)appears, we will be (C5)like Him, because we will (C6)see Him just as He is. 2 Dear friends, now we are children of God, and we have not yet been shown what we will be in the future. But we know that when Christ comes again, we will be like him, because we will see him as he really is. 2-3 But friends, that's exactly who we are: children of God. And that's only the beginning. Who knows how we'll end up! What we know is that when Christ is openly revealed, we'll see him—and in seeing him, become like him. All of us who look forward to his Coming stay ready, with the glistening purity of Jesus' life as a model for our own.2 (C1)Beloved, now we are (C2)children of God, and (C3)it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He (C4)appears, we will be (C5)like Him, because we will (C6)see Him just as He is.2 Beloved, we are now children of God, and what we will be has not yet been revealed. We know that when Christ appears(a), we will be like Him, for we will see Him as He is. 2 My dear friends, we are already God's children, though what we will be hasn't yet been seen. But we do know that when Christ returns, we will be like him, because we will see him as he truly is. 2 Dear friends, we are God's children now; and it has not yet been made clear what we will become. We do know that when he appears, we will be like him; because we will see him as he really is.

2 Beloved, now are we children of God, and what we shall be has not yet been manifested; we know that if it is manifested we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. 2 Dear friends, now we are children of God. We have not yet been shown what we will be in the future. But we know that when Christ comes again, we will be like him. We will see him just as he is.2 Dearely beloued, nowe are we the sonnes of God, but yet it is not made manifest what we shall be: and we know that when he shalbe made manifest, we shalbe like him: for we shall see him as he is.2 My beloved, now we are the sons of God, and as yet it has not been revealed what we shall be: but we know that when he shall appear, we shall be in his likeness; for we shall see him as he is. 2 My dear friends, we are now God's children, but it is not yet clear what we shall become. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he really is. 2 Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been revealed. We know that whenever he is revealed we will be like him, because we will see him just as he is. 2 Beloved, now we are the children of God, and it was not yet revealed what we shall be. But we know that if He is revealed, we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him as He is.2 (C1)Beloved, we are even here and now (C2)children of God, and (C3)it is not yet made clear what we will be after His coming. We know that when He (C4)comes and is revealed, we will as His children (C5)be like Him, because we will (C6)see Him just as He is in all His glory. 2 Beloved, now are we children of God, and it is not yet made manifest what we shall be. We know that, if [a]he shall be manifested, we shall be like him; for we shall see him even as he is. 2 My loved ones, now we are children of God, and at present it is not clear what we are to be. We are certain that at his revelation we will be like him; for we will see him as he is.2 Beloved, now we are children of God, and it is not yet revealed what we will be. But we know that, when he is revealed, we will be like him; for we will see him just as he is. 2 Dear friends, we are now God's children, but what we will be like has not been revealed yet. We know that when Christ[fn] is revealed we will be like him, because we will see him as he is.[xr] 2 MY beloved, now are we the sons of Aloha; and it is not manifest, as yet, what we are to become, but we know, that when he is manifested, in his likeness we are and see him, according to that which he is.2 My beloved, now are we the sons of God; and hitherto, it hath not appeared what we are to be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be in his likeness, and we shall see him as he is.2 Dearely beloued, nowe are we the sonnes of God, and yet it doth not appeare what we shalbe: But we knowe that when he shall appeare, we shalbe lyke hym, for we shall see hym as he is.2 Beloved, now are we children of God, and it is not yet made manifest what we shall be. We know that, if he shall be manifested, we shall be like him; for we shall see him even as he is. 2 Beloved, now we are children of God, and it is not yet revealed what we will be. But we know that, when he is revealed, we will be like him; for we will see him just as he is. 2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know, when he shall appear, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.2 Dear friends, we are now God's children, but what we are to be in the future has not yet been fully revealed. We know that if Christ reappears we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him as He is.2 Moost dere britheren, now we ben the sones of God, and yit it apperide not, what we schulen be. We witen, that whanne he schal appere, we schulen be lijk hym, for we schulen se hym as he is.2 Beloved, we are now children of God, and it is not yet made manifest what we shall be. We know that, if he shall be manifested, we shall be like him; for we shall see him even as he is.2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. 2 Dear friends, we are God's children now, and what we will be has not yet been revealed. We know that whenever it is revealed we will be like him, because we will see him just as he is. 2 Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. 2 Dear friends, we are already God's children, but he has not yet shown us what we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like him, for we will see him as he really is. 2 Dear friends, we are God's children now. But it has not yet been shown to us what we are going to be. We know that when He comes again, we will be like Him because we will see Him as He is. 2 Beloved, we are God's children now; what we will be has not yet been revealed. What we do know is this: when he[a] is revealed, we will be like him, for we will see him as he is. 2 Beloved! now, are we, children of God; and, not yet, hath it been made manifest, what we shall be, - We know that, if it should be made manifest, like unto him, shall we be, because we shall see him, just as he is.2 Dearly beloved, we are now the sons of God: and it hath not yet appeared what we shall be. We know that when he shall appear we shall be like to him: because we shall see him as he is.2 Beloved, we are God's children now; it does not yet appear what we shall be, but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.2 Derely beloved now are we ye sonnes of God and yet it dothe not appere what we shal be. But we knowe that when it shall appere we shal be lyke him. For we shall se him as he is.2 beloved, now, children of God are we, and it was not yet manifested what we shall be, and we have known that if he may be manifested, like him we shall be, because we shall see him as he is;2 Beloved, now, we are children of God, and it was not yet revealed what we will be. We have known that if He may have appeared, we will be like Him, because we will see Him as He is;2 Dearly beloued, we are now ye childre of God, and yet hath it not appeared what we shalbe. But we knowe yt when he shal appeare, we shal be like him: for we shal se him as he is.2 beloved, we are now the sons of God, tho' it does not yet appear what we shall be: but we know, that when this change shall be, his immediate presence will give us a divine resemblance. 2 Listen up, cowboys. We've been adopted by God himself, but we don't know just what this entails yet. But we do know this, when Jesus comes riding back, we will be made like him. We'll see him for who he really is and we will see ourselves as we were meant to be, not as we were. 3 And everyone who has this hope(C1) in him purifies himself just as he is pure.(C2)

3 And euery man that hath this hope in him, purifieth himselfe, euen as he is pure.

3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. 3 And everyone who (k)thus hopes in him (l)purifies himself as he is pure.3 And everyone who has this (C1)hope set on Him (C2)purifies himself, just as He is pure.

3 Christ is pure, and all who have this hope in Christ keep themselves pure like Christ.3 And everyone who has this (C1)hope fixed on Him (C2)purifies himself, just as He is pure.

3 And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as Christ is pure. 3 This hope makes us keep ourselves holy, just as Christ[b] is holy.

3 And everyone who has this hope in him continues purifying himself, since God is pure.

3 And every one that has this hope in him purifies himself, even as *he* is pure. 3 He is pure, and everyone who has this hope in him keeps themselves pure like Christ.3 And euery man that hath this hope in him, purgeth himselfe, euen as he is pure.3 Let every man who has this hope in him purify himself, even as he is pure. 3 Everyone who has this hope in Christ keeps himself pure, just as Christ is pure. 3 And everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as that one is pure.3 And everyone having this hope on Him purifies himself even as that One is pure.3 And everyone who has this (C1)hope confidently placed in Him (C2)purifies himself, just as He is pure (holy, undefiled, guiltless).

3 And every one that hath this hope set on him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. 3 And everyone who has this hope in him makes himself holy, even as he is holy.3 Everyone who has this hope set on him purifies himself, even as he is pure. 3 And everyone who has this hope based on him keeps himself pure, just as he is pure.[xr] 3 And every one who hath in him this hope, purifieth himself, as He is pure.3 And every one that hath this hope from him, purifieth himself, as he is pure.3 And euery man that hath this hope in hym, purgeth hym selfe, euen as he also is pure.3 And every one that hath this hope [set] on him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. 3 Everyone who has this hope set on him purifies himself, even as he is pure. 3 And every one that hath this hope in him, purifieth himself even as he is pure.3 And every man who has this hope fixed on Him, purifies himself so as to be as pure as He is.3 And ech man that hath this hope in hym, makith hym silf hooli, as he is hooli.3 And every one that has this hope [set] on him purifies himself, even as he is pure.3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. 3 And everyone who has this hope focused on him purifies himself, just as Jesus is pure).3 And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure. 3 And all who have this eager expectation will keep themselves pure, just as he is pure. 3 The person who is looking for this to happen will keep himself pure because Christ is pure. 3 And all who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure.3 And, whosoever hath this hope on him, is purifying himself, just as, He, is pure.3 And every one that hath this hope in him sanctifieth himself, as he also is holy.3 And every one who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure.3 And every man that hath thys hope in him pourgeth him silfe even as he ys pure.3 and every one who is having this hope on him, doth purify himself, even as he is pure.3 and everyone who is having this hope on Him, purifies himself, even as He is pure.3 And euery man yt hath this hope in him, pourgeth him selfe, euen as he is pure.3 he that hath such an expectation should purify himself, even as he is pure. 3 This is why we stay away from things that will cast a foul light upon our souls. We keep ourselves pure for the one who is pure.

4 Everyone who commits sin practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness.

4 Whosoeuer committeth sinne, transgresseth also the lawe: for sinne is the transgression of the law.

4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

4 Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; (m)sin is lawlessness.

4 Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and (C1)sin is lawlessness.

4 The person who sins breaks God's law. Yes, sin is living against God's law. 4-6 All who indulge in a sinful life are dangerously lawless, for sin is a major disruption of God's order. Surely you know that Christ showed up in order to get rid of sin. There is no sin in him, and sin is not part of his program. No one who lives deeply in Christ makes a practice of sin. None of those who do practice sin have taken a good look at Christ. They've got him all backward.

4 Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and (C1)sin is lawlessness.

4 Everyone who practices sin practices lawlessness as well. Indeed, sin is lawlessness.

4 Everyone who sins breaks God's law, because sin is the same as breaking God's law. 4 Everyone who keeps sinning is violating Torah — indeed, sin is violation of Torah.

4 Every one that practises sin practises also lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness.

4 Anyone who sins breaks God's law. Yes, sinning is the same as living against God's law.

4 Whosoeuer committeth sinne, transgresseth also the Law: for sinne is the transgression of the Lawe.

4 Whoever commits sin commits evil: for all sin is evil.

4 Whoever sins is guilty of breaking God's law, because sin is a breaking of the law.

4 Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.

4 Everyone practicing sin also practices lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.

4 Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and (C1)sin is lawlessness ignoring God's law by action or neglect or by tolerating wrongdoing—being unrestrained by His commands and His will. 4 Every one that doeth sin doeth also lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness.

4 Everyone who is a sinner goes against the law, for sin is going against the law.

4 Everyone who sins also commits lawlessness. Sin is lawlessness.

4 Everyone who keeps living in sin also practices disobedience. In fact, sin is disobedience.[xr]

4 But whoever committeth sin doeth iniquity; for all sin is iniquity.

4 And every one that practiseth sin, perpetrateth iniquity; for all sin is iniquity.

4 Whosoeuer committeth sinne, transgresseth also the lawe: for sinne is the transgression of the lawe.

4 Every one that doeth sin doeth also lawlessness: and sin is lawlessness.

4 Everyone who sins also commits lawlessness. Sin is lawlessness.

4 Whosoever committeth sin, transgresseth also the law; for sin is the transgression of the law.

4 Every one who is guilty of sin is also guilty of violating Law; for sin is the violation of Law.

4 Ech man that doith synne, doith also wickidnesse, and synne is wickidnesse.

4 Every one that does sin, also does lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness.

4 Whoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law; for sin is the transgression of the law.

4 Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; indeed, sin is lawlessness.

4 Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.

4 Everyone who sins is breaking God's law, for all sin is contrary to the law of God.

4 The person who keeps on sinning is guilty of not obeying the Law of God. For sin is breaking the Law of God.

4 Everyone who commits sin is guilty of lawlessness; sin is lawlessness.

4 Whosoever is committing sin, lawlessness also, is committing, and, sin, is, lawlessness;

4 Whosoever committeth sin committeth also iniquity. And sin is iniquity.

4 Every one who commits sin is guilty of lawlessness; sin is lawlessness.

4 Whosover committeth synne committeth vnrighteousnes also for synne is vnrighteousnes.

4 Every one who is doing the sin, the lawlessness also he doth do, and the sin is the lawlessness,

4 Everyone who is doing sin, he also does lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness,

4 Who so euer comytteth synne, comytteth vnrighteousnes also, and synne is vnrighteousnes.

4 he that is vitious, is lawless: for sin is the transgression of the law.

4 Sin is just a word we use for doing anything that goes against what the Boss told us to do. 5 You know that he was revealed so that he might take away sins,(F1)(C1) and there is no sin in him.(C2) 5 And ye know that hee was manifested to take away our sinnes, and in him is no sinne.

5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. 5 You know that (n)he appeared in order to (o)take away sins, and (p)in him there is no sin.5 You know that He (C1)appeared in order to (C2)take away sins; and (C3)in Him there is no sin. 5 You know that Christ came to take away sins and that there is no sin in Christ. 5 You know that He (C1)appeared in order to (C2)take away sins; and (C3)in Him there is no sin.5 But you know that Christ appeared to take away sins, and in Him there is no sin. 5 You know that Christ came to take away sins. He isn't sinful, 5 You know that he appeared in order to take away sins, and that there is no sin in him.

5 And ye know that *he* has been manifested that he might take away our sins; and in him sin is not. 5 You know that Christ came to take away people's sins. There is no sin in Christ.5 And ye knowe that hee was made manifest, that he might take away our sinnes, and in him is no sinne.5 And you know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. 5 (b)You know that Christ appeared in order to take away sins,[a] and that there is no sin in him. 5 And you know that that one was revealed in order that he might take away sins, and in him there is no sin. 5 And you know that that One was revealed that He might take away our sins, and sin is not in Him.5 You know that He (C1)appeared in visible form as a man in order to (C2)take away sins; and (C3)in Him there is absolutely no sin for He has neither the sin nature nor has He committed sin or acts worthy of blame. 5 And ye know that he was manifested to [b]take away sins; and in him is no sin. 5 And you have knowledge that he came to take away sin: and in him there is no sin.5 You know that he was revealed to take away our sins, and in him is no sin. 5 You know that he was revealed to take away sins,[fn] and there is not any sin in him.[xr] 5 And you know that he was manifested to bear our sins, and sin in him is not.5 And ye know, that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him was no sin.5 And ye know that he appeared to take away our sinnes, & in hym is no sinne.5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away sins; and in him is no sin. 5 You know that he was revealed to take away our sins, and in him is no sin. 5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins, and in him is no sin.5 And you know that He appeared in order to take away sins; and in Him there is no sin.5 And ye witen, that he apperide to do awei synnes, and synne is not in hym.5 And you know that he was manifested to take away sins; and in him is no sin.5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. 5 And you know that Jesus was revealed to take away sins, and in him there is no sin. 5 And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin. 5 And you know that Jesus came to take away our sins, and there is no sin in him. 5 You know that Christ came to take away our sins. There is no sin in Him. 5 You know that he was revealed to take away sins, and in him there is no sin. 5 And ye know, that, He, was made manifest - in order that, our sins, he should take away, and, sin, in him, is there none.5 And you know that he appeared to take away our sins: and in him there is no sin.5 You know that he appeared to take away sins, and in him there is no sin.5 And ye knowe that he appered to take awaye oure synnes and in him is no synne.5 and ye have known that he was manifested that our sins he may take away, and sin is not in him;5 and you have known that He appeared that He may take away our sins, and sin is not in Him;5 And ye knowe that he appeared to take awaye oure synnes: and in him is no synne.5 and you know that he appear'd to abolish our sins; and that he was himself without sin. 5 Jesus came to save us from our sins. He was the only one who could because he never sinned himself. 6 Everyone who remains in him(C1) does not sin;(F1)(C2) everyone who sins(F2) has not seen him or known him.

6 Whosoeuer abideth in him, sinneth not: whosoeuer sinneth, hath not seene him, neither knowen him.

6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. 6 No one who abides in him keeps on sinning; (q)no one who keeps on sinning has either seen him or known him.6 No one who remains in Him (C1)sins continually; no one who sins continually has seen Him or (F1)(C2)knows Him. 6 So anyone who lives in Christ does not go on sinning. Anyone who goes on sinning has never really understood Christ and has never known him.6 No one who abides in Him (C1)sins; no one who sins has seen Him or (F1)(C2)knows Him.6 No one who remains in Him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has seen Him or known Him. 6 and people who stay one in their hearts with him won't keep on sinning. If they do keep on sinning, they don't know Christ, and they have never seen him. 6 So no one who remains united with him continues sinning; everyone who does continue sinning has neither seen him nor known him.

6 Whoever abides in him, does not sin: whoever sins, has not seen him or known him. 6 So whoever lives in Christ does not continue to sin. If they continue to sin, they have never really understood Christ and have never known him.6 Whosoeuer abideth in him, sinneth not: whosoeuer sinneth, hath not seene him, neither hath knowen him.6 Whoever abides in him does not sin: and whoever sins has not seen him, neither known him. 6 So everyone who lives in union with Christ does not continue to sin; but whoever continues to sin has never seen him or known him. 6 Everyone who resides in him does not sin. Everyone who sins has neither seen him nor known him. 6 Everyone remaining in Him does not sin. Everyone sinning has not seen Him, nor known Him.
