1 Listen, cowboys. Just because some hombre rides up claiming to have the Spirit in his life don't make it so. There's been a ton of counterfeit cowboys who have made the same claim. The Authenticity Test
2 This is how you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh(C1) is from God,(C2) 2 Hereby know ye the spirit of God: euery spirit that confesseth that Iesus Christ is come in the flesh, is of God.

Everyone who confesses openly his faith in Jesus Christ—the Son of God, who came as an actual flesh-and-blood person—comes from God and belongs to God. And everyone who refuses to confess faith in Jesus has nothing in common with God. This is the spirit of antichrist that you heard was coming. Well, here it is, sooner than we thought!2 By this you know the Spirit of God: (C1)every spirit that (C2)confesses that (C3)Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God;2 By this you will know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, 2 and you can know which ones come from God. Ask them if they have faith that Jesus was God and came to earth as a real person. 3 but every spirit that does not confess Jesus(F1) is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist,(C1) which you have heard is coming; even now it is already in the world.
3 And euery Spirit that confesseth not that Iesus Christ is come in the flesh, is not of God: and this is that spirit of Antichrist, whereof you haue heard, that it should come, and euen now already is it in the world.3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. 3 and every spirit (h)that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and (i)now is in the world already.3 and every spirit that (C1)does not confess Jesus is not from God; this is the spirit of the (C2)antichrist, which you have heard is coming, and (C3)now it is already in the world. 3 And every spirit who refuses to say this about Jesus is not from God. It is the spirit of the enemy of Christ, which you have heard is coming, and now he is already in the world.3 and every spirit that (C1)does not confess Jesus is not from God; this is the spirit of the (C2)antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming, and (C3)now it is already in the world.3 and every spirit that does not confess Jesus(a) is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming, and is already in the world at this time. 3 But when someone doesn't say this about Jesus, you know that person has a spirit that doesn't come from God and is the enemy of Christ. You knew that this enemy was coming into the world and now is already here. 3 and every spirit which does not acknowledge Yeshua is not from God — in fact, this is the spirit of the Anti-Messiah. You have heard that he is coming. Well, he's here now, in the world already!
3 and every spirit which does not confess Jesus Christ come in flesh is not of God: and this is that [power] of the antichrist, [of] which ye have heard that it comes, and now it is already in the world. 3 Another spirit refuses to say this about Jesus. That spirit is not from God. This is the spirit of the enemy of Christ. You have heard that the enemy of Christ is coming, and now he is already in the world.3 And euery spirit that confesseth not that Iesus Christ is come in the flesh, is not of God: but this is the spirit of Antichrist, of whome ye haue heard, how that he should come, and nowe already he is in this world.3 And every prophecy which does not declare that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not from God: but it is the prophecy of the false Christ, of whose coming you have heard, and who is even now already in the world. 3 But anyone who denies this about Jesus does not have the Spirit from God. The spirit that he has is from the Enemy of Christ; you heard that it would come, and now it is here in the world already. 3 and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God, and this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming, and now it is already in the world.3 And every spirit which does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not from God; and this is the antichrist which you heard is coming, and now is already in the world.3 and every spirit that (C1)does not confess Jesus acknowledging that He has come in the flesh, but would deny any of the Son's true nature is not of God; this is the spirit of the (C2)antichrist, which you have heard is coming, and is (C3)now already in the world. 3 and every spirit that [a]confesseth not Jesus is not of God: and this is the spirit of the antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it cometh; and now it is in the world already. 3 And every spirit which does not say this is not from God: this is the spirit of Antichrist, of which you have had word; and it is in the world even now.3 and every spirit who doesn't confess that Yeshua the Messiah has come in the flesh is not of God, and this is the spirit of the anti-messiah, of whom you have heard that it comes. Now it is in the world already. 3 But every spirit who does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist. You have heard that he is coming, and now he is already in the world.[xr] 3 And every spirit who confesseth not that Jeshu hath come in the flesh, is not from Aloha: but this is from that false meshiha, of whom you have heard that he cometh, and now is in the world already.3 And every spirit which confesseth not that Jesus the Messiah hath come in the flesh, is not of God; but he is of the false Messiah, of whom ye have heard that he cometh, and now is he already in the world.3 And euery spirite which confesseth not that Iesus Christe is come in the fleshe, is not of God. Such is the spirit of the anti-Christ; of whose coming you have heard, and it is already in the world.3 and ech spirit that fordoith Jhesu, is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world. 3 But if someone claims to be a prophet and does not acknowledge the truth about Jesus, that person is not from God. Such a person has the spirit of the Antichrist, which you heard is coming into the world and indeed is already here. 3 And every spirit that does not say Jesus has come in a human body is not from God. It is the teaching of the false-christ. You have heard that this teaching is coming. It is already here in the world. 3 and every spirit that does not confess Jesus[a] is not from God. And this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming; and now it is already in the world. 3 And, every spirit that doth not confess Jesus, of God, is not. And, this, is the spirit of the Antichrist, touching which ye have heard that it cometh: even now, is it, in the world, already.3 And every spirit that dissolveth Jesus is not of God. And this is Antichrist, of whom you have heard that he cometh: and he is now already in the world.3 and every spirit which does not confess Jesus is not of God. This is the spirit of antichrist, of which you heard that it was coming, and now it is in the world already.3 And every sprete which cofesseth not yt Iesus Christ is come in the flesshe is not of God. And this is that sprete of Antichrist of whom ye have hearde howe that he shuld come: and even now alredy is he in the worlde.3 and every spirit that doth not confess Jesus Christ in the flesh having come, of God it is not; and this is that of the antichrist, which ye heard that it doth come, and now in the world it is already.3 and every spirit that does not confess Jesus Christ having come in the flesh, it is not of God; and this is that of the antichrist, which you heard that it comes, and now it is already in the world.3 And euery sprete which confesseth not that Iesus Christ is come in the flesh, is not off God. And this is that sprete of Antechrist, off whom ye haue herde, how that he shal come, and euen now allready is he in the worlde.3 and every spirit that does not own that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh, is not from God." this is that anti-christian spirit which you have heard was to come, and even now it appears in the world. 3 Those who deny it are counterfeit cowboys. They don't have the Holy Ghost, but the devil's spirit of lies inside 'em. You've heard that the Antichrist would come, but he is already here in many ways.
4 You are from God, little children, and you have conquered them, because the one who is in you(C1) is greater than the one who is in the world.(C2)
4 Ye are of God, little children, and haue ouercome them: because greater is he that is in you, then he that is in the world.
4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. 4 Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for (j)he who is in you is greater than (k)he who is in the world.4 You are from God, (C1)little children, and (C2)have overcome them; because (C3)greater is He who is in you than (C4)he who is in the world.
4 My dear children, you belong to God and have defeated them; because God's Spirit, who is in you, is greater than the devil, who is in the world. 4-6 My dear children, you come from God and belong to God. You have already won a big victory over those false teachers, for the Spirit in you is far stronger than anything in the world. These people belong to the Christ-denying world. They talk the world's language and the world eats it up. But we come from God and belong to God. Anyone who knows God understands us and listens. The person who has nothing to do with God will, of course, not listen to us. This is another test for telling the Spirit of Truth from the spirit of deception.4 You are from God, (C1)little children, and (C2)have overcome them; because (C3)greater is He who is in you than (C4)he who is in the world.
4 You, little children, are from God and have overcome them, because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.
4 Children, you belong to God, and you have defeated these enemies. God's Spirit[a] is in you and is more powerful than the one that is in the world.
4 You, children, are from God and have overcome the false prophets, because he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

4 My dear children, you belong to God, so you have already defeated these false prophets. That's because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

You have stood against these false preachers and had power over them. You had power over them because the One Who lives in you is stronger than the one who is in the world. 4 Little children, you are from God, and have conquered them; for the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
4 Ye, are, of God, dear children, and have overcome them; because, greater, is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

4 But don't fret none, cowboys. You ride for God and have already defeated all these counterfeit cowboys. The Holy Ghost inside you is vastly more powerful than the lies in them.
5 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. 5 (l)They are from the world; therefore they speak from the world, and (m)the world listens to them.5 (C1)They are from the world, therefore they speak as from the world, and the world listens to them. 5 And they belong to the world, so what they say is from the world, and the world listens to them. 5 (C1)They are from the world; therefore they speak as from the world, and the world listens to them.5 They are of the world. That is why they speak from the world’s perspective, and the world listens to them. 5 These enemies belong to this world, and the world listens to them, because they speak its language. 5 They are from the world; therefore, they speak from the world's viewpoint; and the world listens to them.
5 *They* are of the world; for this reason they speak [as] of the world, and the world hears them. 5 And they belong to the world, so what they say is from the world too. And the world listens to what they say.5 They are of this worlde, therefore speake they of this world, and this world heareth them.5 They are of the world; therefore they speak of the world, and the world hears them. 5 Those false prophets speak about matters of the world, and the world listens to them because they belong to the world. 5 They are from the world; therefore[b] they speak from the world and the world listens to them. 5 They are of the world; because of this they speak of the world, and the world hears them.5 (C1)They who teach twisted doctrine are of the world and belong to it; therefore they speak from the viewpoint of the world with its immoral freedom and baseless theories—demanding compliance with their opinions and ridiculing the values of the upright, and the gullible people of the world listen closely and pay attention to them. 5 They are of the world: therefore speak they as of the world, and the world heareth them. 5 They are of the world, so their talk is the world's talk, and the world gives ear to them.5 They are of the world. Therefore they speak of the world, and the world hears them. 5 These people belong to the world. That is why they speak from the world's perspective,[fn] and the world listens to them.[xr] 5 And these are of the world, therefore the world heareth them. But we are of Aloha; and he who knoweth Aloha heareth us;5 And they are of the world: therefore they speak from the world, and the world heareth them.5 They are of the world, therfore speake they of the worlde, & the world heareth them.5 They are of the world: therefore speak they [as] of the world, and the world heareth them. 5 They are of the world. Therefore of the world they speak: and the world heareth them.5 They are of the world, therefore what they say is of the world, and the world listens to them.5 They are of the worlde and therfore speake they of the worlde and the worlde heareth them.5 They -- of the world they are; because of this from the world they speak, and the world doth hear them;5 They are of the world, because they speak of this from the world, and the world hears them;5 They are off the worlde, therfore speake they off the worlde, and the worlde herkeneth vnto them.5 they are of the world: therefore their doctrine is worldly, and the world are their disciples. 5 These counterfeit cowboys talk only of things in this world and how to get them. That's because they are slaves to this world, not God. 6 We are from God. Anyone who knows God listens to us;(C1) anyone who is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of deception.(C2)
6 We are of God: hee that knoweth God, heareth vs: he that is not of God heareth not vs, hereby know wee the spirit of trueth, and the spirit of errour.6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. 6 We are from God. (n)Whoever knows God listens to us; whoever is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know (o)the Spirit of truth and (p)the spirit of error.6 (C1)We are from God. (C2)The one who knows God listens to us; (C3)the one who is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know (C4)the spirit of truth and (C5)the spirit of error. 6 But we belong to God, and those who know God listen to us. But those who are not from God do not listen to us. That is how we know the Spirit that is true and the spirit that is false.6 (C1)We are from God; (C2)he who knows God listens to us; (C3)he who is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know (C4)the spirit of truth and (C5)the spirit of error.6 We are from God. Whoever knows God listens to us; whoever is not from God does not listen to us. That is how we know the Spirit(a) of truth and the spirit of deception. 6 We belong to God, and everyone who knows God will listen to us. But the people who don't know God won't listen to us. That is how we can tell the Spirit that speaks the truth from the one that tells lies. 6 We are from God. Whoever knows God listens to us; whoever is not from God doesn't listen to us. This is how we distinguish the Spirit of truth from the spirit of error.

Whoever is not of God does not hear us. From this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.
