Overcoming the World
1 (a)Everyone who believes that (b)Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and (c)everyone who loves the Father loves whoever has been born of him.

Faith in the Son of God
1 Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is God's child, and whoever loves the Father also loves the Father's children. 1-3 Every person who believes that Jesus is, in fact, the Messiah, is God-begotten. If we love the One who conceives the child, we'll surely love the child who was conceived. The reality test on whether or not we love God's children is this: Do we love God? Do we keep his commands? The proof that we love God comes when we keep his commandments and they are not at all troublesome.
Overcoming the World
1 (C1)Whoever believes that Jesus is the (F1)Christ is (F2)(C2)born of God, and whoever loves the (F3)Father (C3)loves the child (F2)born of Him.

1 If we believe that Jesus is truly Christ, we are God's children. Everyone who loves the Father will also love his children.
1 Everyone who believes that Yeshua is the Messiah has God as his father, and everyone who loves a father loves his offspring too.
1 Every one that believes that Jesus is the Christ is begotten of God; and every one that loves him that has begotten loves also him that is begotten of him.
God's Children Win Against the World
1 The people who believe that Jesus is the Messiah are God's children. Anyone who loves the Father also loves the Father's children.

Faith Conquers the World

And if we love him, we are going to obey him just like we would any great father. What he asks us to do is not too hard. 4 because everyone who has been born of God conquers the world. This is the victory that has conquered the world: our faith.
4 For whatsoeuer is borne of God, ouercommeth the world, and this is the victorie that ouercommeth the world, euen our faith.4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. 4 For (h)everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—(i)our faith.4 For (F1)whoever has been (C1)born of God (C2)overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world: our faith.
4 because everyone who is a child of God conquers the world. And this is the victory that conquers the world—our faith. 4-5 Every God-begotten person conquers the world's ways. The conquering power that brings the world to its knees is our faith. The person who wins out over the world's ways is simply the one who believes Jesus is the Son of God.4 For whatever is (F1)(C1)born of God (C2)overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world--our faith.4 because everyone born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world: our faith.4 Every child of God can defeat the world, and our faith is what gives us this victory. 4 because everything which has God as its Father overcomes the world. And this is what victoriously overcomes the world: our trust.
4 For all that has been begotten of God gets the victory over the world; and this is the victory which has gotten the victory over the world, our faith. 4 because everyone who is a child of God has the power to win against the world.4 For all that is borne of God, ouercommeth this world: and this is that victorie that hath ouercome this world, euen our faith.4 For whoever is born of God triumphs over the world: and this is the victory which conquers the world, even our faith. 4 because every child of God is able to defeat the world. And we win the victory over the world by means of our faith. 4 because everyone who is fathered by God conquers the world.
God Has Given Us Eternal Life in the Son
And this is the victory which has conquered the world: our faith. 4 Because everything having been born of God overcomes the world, and this is the victory overcoming the world, our faith.4 For (F1)everyone (C1)born of God is (C2)victorious and overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has conquered and overcome the world—our continuing, persistent faith in Jesus the Son of God.
4 For whatsoever is begotten of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that hath overcome the world, even our faith. 4 Anything which comes from God is able to overcome the world: and the power by which we have overcome the world is our faith.4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world: your faith. 4 because everyone who is born from God has overcome the world. Our faith is the victory that overcomes the world.[xr] 4 Because every one who is born of Aloha overcometh the world: and this is the victory which overcometh the world, our faith.4 Because, whoever is born of God, overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, our faith.4 For all that is borne of God, ouercommeth the worlde. This is the conquering power that has conquered the world: our faith. 4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world--our [fn] faith. 4 For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith. 4 Every child of God has power over the sins of the world. The way we have power over the sins of the world is by our faith. 4 for whatever is born of God conquers the world. And this is the victory that conquers the world, our faith. 4 Because, whatsoever hath been born of God, overcometh the world; and, this, is the victory that hath overcome the world - our faith.4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world. And this is the victory which overcameth the world: Our faith.4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that overcomes the world, our faith.4 For all that is borne of god over commeth the worlde. And this is the victory that overcometh the worlde even oure fayth.4 because every one who is begotten of God doth overcome the world, and this is the victory that did overcome the world -- our faith;4 because everyone who is begotten of God overcomes the world, and this is the victory that overcame the world—our faith.4 For all that is borne of God, ouercommeth the worlde: and this is the victory that ouercommeth the worlde, eue oure faith.4 for he that is a true christian, overcomes the world: by obtaining faith, we have gain'd a victory over the world. 4 Shoot, we're just glad that because we are God's kids, we can defeat the world and its ways. We do this by our faith in him.
The Certainty of God’s Testimony
5 Who is the one who conquers the world(C1) but the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?(C2) 5 Who is he that ouercommeth the world, but he that beleeueth that Iesus is the Sonne of God?
5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? 5 Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes (j)that Jesus is the Son of God?
5 Who is the one who overcomes the world, but the one who (C1)believes that Jesus is the Son of God? 5 So the one who conquers the world is the person who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.
5 Who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who (C1)believes that Jesus is the Son of God?5 Who then overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God. 5 No one can defeat the world without having faith in Jesus as the Son of God. 5 Who does overcome the world if not the person who believes that Yeshua is the Son of God?
5 Who is he that gets the victory over the world, but he that believes that Jesus is the Son of God? 5 It is our faith that has won the victory against the world. So who wins against the world? Only those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God.5 Who is it that ouercommeth this world, but he which beleeueth that Iesus is that Sonne of God?5 Who is he who triumphs over the world but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? 5 Who can defeat the world? Only the person who believes that Jesus is the Son of God. 5 Now who is the one who conquers the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? 5 Who is the one overcoming the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
5 Who is the one who is victorious and overcomes the world? It is the one who (C1)believes and recognizes the fact that Jesus is the Son of God. 5 And who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? 5 Who is able to overcome the world but the man who has faith that Jesus is the Son of God?5 Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Yeshua is the Son of God? 5 Who overcomes the world? Only those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God. 5 Who could have power over the world except by believing that Jesus is the Son of God? 5 Who is it that conquers the world but the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?5 And who is he that overcometh the world, save he that believeth that, Jesus, is the Son of God?5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?5 Who is it that overcomes the world but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?5 Who is it that overcommeth the worlde: but he which beleveth that Iesus is ye sonne of god?5 who is he who is overcoming the world, if not he who is believing that Jesus is the Son of God?5 Who is he who is overcoming the world, if not he who is believing that Jesus is the Son of God?5 Who is it yt ouercommeth the worlde, but he which beleueth that Iesus is the sonne of God?5 Who is it that overcomes the world, but he that believes that Jesus is the son of God? 5 Who can defeat the whole world? The cowboy who believes Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
6 Jesus Christ—he is the one who came by water and blood, not by water only, but by water(C1) and by blood.(C2) And the Spirit is the one who testifies,(C3) because the Spirit is the truth.6 This is hee that came by water and blood, euen Iesus Christ, not by water onely, but by water and blood: and it is the Spirit that beareth witnesse, because the Spirit is trueth.
6 This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.
Testimony Concerning the Son of God
6 This is he who came (k)by water and blood—Jesus Christ; not by the water only but by the water and the blood. And (l)the Spirit is the one who testifies, because (m)the Spirit is the truth.6 This is the One who came (C1)by water and blood, Jesus Christ; not (F1)with the water only, but (F1)with the water and (F1)with the blood. It is (C2)the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth.
6 Jesus Christ is the One who came by water[a] and blood.[b] He did not come by water only, but by water and blood. And the Spirit says that this is true, because the Spirit is the truth. 6-8 Jesus—the Divine Christ! He experienced a life-giving birth and a death-killing death. Not only birth from the womb, but baptismal birth of his ministry and sacrificial death. And all the while the Spirit is confirming the truth, the reality of God's presence at Jesus' baptism and crucifixion, bringing those occasions alive for us. A triple testimony: the Spirit, the Baptism, the Crucifixion. And the three in perfect agreement.6 This is the One who came (C1)by water and blood, Jesus Christ; not (F1)with the water only, but (F1)with the water and (F1)with the blood. It is (C2)the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth.
6 This is the One who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ—not by water alone, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who testifies to this, because the Spirit is the truth.
Who Jesus Is
6 Water and blood came out from the side of Jesus Christ. It wasn't just water, but water and blood.[a] The Spirit tells about this, because the Spirit is truthful.
6 He is the one who came by means of water and blood, Yeshua the Messiah — not with water only, but with the water and the blood. And the Spirit bears witness, because the Spirit is the truth.
6 This is he that came by water and blood, Jesus [the] Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that bears witness, for the Spirit is the truth.
God Told Us About His Son
6 Jesus Christ is the one who came. He came with water and with blood.[a] He did not come by water only. No, Jesus came by both water and blood. And the Spirit tells us that this is true. The Spirit is the truth.
6 This is that Iesus Christ that came by water and blood: not by water onely, but by water and blood: and it is that Spirit, that beareth witnesse: for that Spirit is trueth.
6 This is he who came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And the Spirit testifies that that very Spirit is the truth.
The Witness about Jesus Christ
6 Jesus Christ is the one who came with the water of his baptism and the blood of his death. He came not only with the water, but with both the water and the blood.
