5 And now, I beseech thee Lady, not as though I wrote a new commandement vnto thee: but that which wee had from the beginning, that wee loue one another.
5 And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another. 5 And now I ask you, dear lady—(h)not as though I were writing you a new commandment, but the one we have had from the beginning—(i)that we love one another.5 Now I ask you, lady, (C1)not as though I were writing to you a new commandment, but the one which we have had (C1)from the beginning, that we (C2)love one another. 5 And now, dear lady, this is not a new command but is the same command we have had from the beginning. I ask you that we all love each other. 5 Now I ask you, lady, (C1)not as though I were writing to you a new commandment, but the one which we have had (C1)from the beginning, that we (C2)love one another.
5 And now I urge you, dear lady—not as a new commandment to you, but one we have had from the beginning—that we love one another. 5 Dear friend, I am not writing to tell you and your children to do something you have not done before. I am writing to tell you to love each other, which is the first thing you were told to do. 5 And now, dear lady, I am requesting that we love one another — not as if this were a new command I am writing you, for it is the one which we have had from the beginning.
5 And now I beseech thee, lady, not as writing to thee a new commandment, but that which we have had from [the] beginning, that we should love one another. 5 And now, dear lady, I tell you: We should all love each other. This is not a new command. It is the same command we had from the beginning.
5 And nowe beseeche I thee, Lady, (not as writing a newe commandement vnto thee, but that same which we had from the beginning) that we loue one another.
5 And now I beseech you, O mother church, not as though I wrote a new commandment to you, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another. 5 (a)And so I ask you, dear Lady: let us all love one another. This is no new command I am writing you; it is the command which we have had from the beginning.
Watch Out for False Teachers
5 And now I ask you, lady (not as if I were writing a new commandment to you, but one that we have had from the beginning), that we should love one another.
5 And I now request you, lady, not writing as a new commandment, but one which we had from the beginning, that we should love one another.5 Now I ask you, lady, (C1)not as if I were writing to you a new commandment, but simply reminding you of the one which we have had (C1)from the beginning, that we (F1)(C2)love and unselfishly seek the best for one another. 5 And now I beseech thee, [b]lady, not as though I wrote to thee a new commandment, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another.
5 And now, my sister, I make a request to you, not sending you a new law, but the law which we had from the first, that we have love for one another.
5 Now I beg you, dear lady, not as though I wrote to you a new mitzvah, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another.
5 I am now requesting you, dear lady, that we continue to love each other. It is not as though I am writing to give you a new commandment, but one that we have had from the beginning.[xr]
5 And now I entreat thee, Kuria,-no new commandment writing to thee, but that which we have had from the beginning,-that we love one another.
5 And now, I beseech thee, Kuria, (I write no new commandment to thee, but that which was with us from the beginning,) that we should love one another.
5 And nowe beseche I thee Lady, not as though I wrote a newe commaundement vnto thee: but that same which we haue had from the begynnyng, that we shoulde loue one another.
5 And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote to thee a new commandment, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another.
5 Now I beg you, dear lady, not as though I wrote to you a new commandment, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another.
5 And now I beseech thee, Kuria, (not as writing a new commandment to thee, but that which we had from the beginning ) that we may love one another.
5 And now, dear lady, I pray you--writing to you, as I do, not a new command, but the one which we have had from the very beginning--let us love one another.
5 And now Y preye thee, ladi, not as writinge a newe maundement to thee, but that that we hadden fro the bigynnyng, that we loue ech other.
5 And now I urge you, lady, not as though I wrote to you a new commandment, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another.
5 And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment to thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another.
Warning Against False Teachers
5 But now I ask you, lady (not as if I were writing a new commandment to you, but the one we have had from the beginning), that we love one another.
5 And now I plead with you, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment to you, but that which we have had from the beginning: that we love one another.
5 I am writing to remind you, dear friends,[c] that we should love one another. This is not a new commandment, but one we have had from the beginning. 5 And now I ask you, lady, that we have love one for the other. I am not writing to you about a new Law but an old one we have had from the beginning. 5 But now, dear lady, I ask you, not as though I were writing you a new commandment, but one we have had from the beginning, let us love one another.
5 And, now, I request thee, lady, not as writing, a new commandment, unto thee, but one which we were holding from the beginning - That we should be loving one another.
5 And now I beseech thee, lady, not as writing a new commandment to thee, but that which we have had from the beginning, that we love one another.
5 And now I beg you, lady, not as though I were writing you a new commandment, but the one we have had from the beginning, that we love one another.
5 And nowe beseche I the lady not as though I wrote a newe commaundement vnto the but that same which we had fro the begynninge that we shuld love one another.
5 and now I beseech thee, Kyria, not as writing to thee a new command, but which we had from the beginning, that we may love one another,
5 and now I implore you, lady, not as writing to you a new command, but which we had from the beginning, that we may love one another,
5 And now lady I beseke the (not as though I wrote a new commaundement vnto the, but the same which we haue had from the begynnynge) that we loue one another.
5 and now, my lady, I beg our love may be mutual, since what I write, is no new prescription, but what was originally enjoin'd. 5 If we do that, then I know we are taking care of each other. This isn't some shocking new revelation. It's been part of our code since the beginning. 6 This is love:(C1) that we walk according to his commands.(C2) This is the command as you have heard it from the beginning: that you walk in love.(F1)
6 And this is loue, that wee walke after his Commandements. This is the Commandement, that as yee haue heard from the beginning, yee should walke in it.6 And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it. 6 And (j)this is love, that we walk according to his commandments; this is the commandment, just (k)as you have heard from the beginning, so that you should walk in it.6 And (C1)this is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, (C2)just as you have heard (C3)from the beginning, that you are to walk in it.
6 And love means living the way God commanded us to live. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is this: Live a life of love.6 And (C1)this is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, (C2)just as you have heard (C3)from the beginning, that you should walk in it.6 And this is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the very commandment you have heard from the beginning, that you must walk in love. 6 Love means that we do what God tells us. And from the beginning, he told you to love him. 6 Moreover, love is this: that we should live according to his commands. This is the command, as you people have heard from the beginning; live by it!6 And this is love, that we should walk according to his commandments. This is the commandment, according as ye have heard from the beginning, that ye might walk in it. 6 And loving means living the way he commanded us to live. And God's command is this: that you live a life of love. You heard this command from the beginning.6 And this is that loue, that we should walke after his commandements. This commandement is, that as ye haue heard from the beginning, ye should walke in it.6 And this is love, that we walk according to his commandments. This is the commandment, that as you have heard from the beginning, you should follow it. 6 This love I speak of means that we must live in obedience to God's commands. The command, as you have all heard from the beginning, is that you must all live in love. 6 And this is love: that we walk according to his commandments. This is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, so that you should walk in it. 6 And this is love, that we should walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, even as you heard from the beginning, that you should walk in it.
