My heart rejoices in the Lord;^(C2)
my horn is lifted up by the Lord.
My mouth boasts over my enemies,
because I rejoice in your salvation.^(C3)

There is no one besides you!^(C2)

Don't dare talk pretentiously—
    not a word of boasting, ever!
For God knows what's going on.
    He takes the measure of everything that happens.
The weapons of the strong are smashed to pieces,
    while the weak are infused with fresh strength.
The well-fed are out begging in the streets for crusts,
    while the hungry are getting second helpings.
The barren woman has a houseful of children,
    while the mother of many is bereft.

    Let no arrogance go forth from your mouth,
    for Yahweh is a God of knowledge
    whose deeds are not weighed.^[c]
3 Talk no more so very proudly,
    let not arrogance come from your mouth;
for the Lord is a God of knowledge,
    and by him actions are weighed.

³ "Don't continue bragging,
    don't speak proud words.
The Lord is a God who knows everything,
    and he judges what people do.
³ Don't keep speaking so arrogantly,
letting proud talk come out of your mouth!
For the Lord is a God who knows;
he evaluates what people do.

³ "Do not go on boasting so very proudly,
^(C1)Do not let arrogance come out of your mouth;
^(C2)For the LORD is a God of knowledge,
^(C3)And by Him actions are weighed (examined).

³ "Stop your proud boasting!
Don't let arrogance come from your mouth!
For Adonai is a God of knowledge,
and he appraises actions.

³ Do not multiply your words of pride, let not vain-glory come out of your mouth; For Jehovah is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed.

³ Don't continue bragging.
    Don't speak proud words,
because the Lord God knows everything.
    He leads and judges people.³ Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let not arrogancy come out of your mouths; for the LORD is a God of knowledge, and no devices can stand before him.
³ Stop your loud boasting;
    silence your proud words.
For the Lord is a God who knows,
    and he judges all that people do.³ Do not multiply your haughty words; let not arrogance go out from your mouth; for Jehovah is a God of knowledge, and by Him actions are weighed.³ Let go yor greate boostinge of hye thynges, let go out of youre mouth that olde byworde: for the LORDE is a God yt knoweth all thinges, & he hath set all workes in order.

For the Lord is a God who knows what you have done;
    he will judge your actions. ³ Speak no more in your pride. Do not let proud talk come out of your mouth. For the Lord is a God Who knows. Actions are weighed by Him.
³ Talk no more so very proudly,
    let not arrogance come from your mouth;
for the Lord is a God of knowledge,
    and by him actions are weighed.³ Do not multiply words, so loftily - loftily, Nor let arrogance proceed from your mouth, - For, a GOD of knowledge, is Yahweh, And, for himself, are great doings made firm.³ Do not multiply to speak lofty things, boasting: let old matters depart from your mouth: for the Lord is a God of all knowledge, and to him are thoughts prepared.³ Talk no more so very proudly, let not arrogance come from your mouth; for the LORD is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed.³ You do not multiply—you speak haughtily—The old saying goes out from your mouth, || For YHWH [is] a God of knowledge, || And actions are weighed by Him.

but those who are starving hunger no more.
The woman who is childless gives birth to seven,^(C1)
but the woman with many sons pines away.^(C2)5 Those who were full have hired out themselves for bread; Those who were hungry have ceased [to hunger]: Yes, the barren has borne seven; She who has many children languishes.

⁵ They that were full have hired out themselves for bread; and they that were hungry ceased: so that the barren hath born seven; and she that hath many children is waxed feeble.
⁵ Those who were full must hire themselves out for bread,
    but those who are hungry will become fat.
As for the infertile, she will bear seven,
    but she who has many sons withers away.
⁵ Those who were full have hired themselves out for bread,
    but those who were hungry have ceased to hunger.
^(g)The barren has borne seven,
    ^(h)but she who has many children is forlorn.
⁵ Those who once had plenty of food now must work for food,
    but people who were hungry are hungry no more.
The woman who could not have children now has seven,
    but the woman who had many children now is sad.
⁵ Those who are well-fed hire themselves out to earn food,
but the hungry no longer lack.
Even the barren woman gives birth to seven,
but the one with many children withers away.

⁵ "Those who were full hire themselves out for bread,
But those who were hungry cease to hunger.
^(C1)Even the barren woman gives birth to seven,
But ^(C2)she who has many children withers away.

⁵ People who had plenty of food in the past
    must now work to get food.
But those who were hungry in the past
    now grow fat on food.
The woman who was not able to have children
    now has seven children.
But the woman who had many children
    is sad because her children are gone.⁵ Those who were full have hired out themselves for bread; and those who were hungry have food left over; the barren has given birth and is satisfied; and she who has many children is lonely.
⁵ The people who once were well fed
    now hire themselves out to get food,
    but the hungry are hungry no more.
The childless wife has borne seven children,
    but the mother of many is left with none.⁵ They that were full have hired themselves out for bread; and the hungry have ceased, while the barren has borne seven; yea, she who had many sons has languished.⁵ They that were fylled afore, are solde for bred: and they that were hongrie, are satisfied: vntyll the baren bare seuen, and tyll she that had many childre, was become weake.
⁵ They that were full have hired out themselves for bread;
And they that were hungry ^[b]have ceased to hunger:
Yea, the barren hath borne seven;
And she that hath many children languisheth.⁵ Those who were full are offering themselves as servants for bread; those who were in need are at rest; truly, she who had no children has become the mother of seven; and she who had a family is wasted with sorrow.⁵ They that were full, haue hyred out them selues for bread, and they that were hungry, ceasse, tyll the barren hath borne seuen, and she that had many children, is waxed feeble.⁵ They that were full have hired out themselves for bread; and they that were hungry have ceased; while the barren hath borne seven, she that had many children hath languished.⁵ They that were full, haue hired out themselues for bread: and they that were hungry, ceased: so that the barren hath borne seuen, and she that hath many children, is waxed feeble. ⁵ They that were full of bread are brought low; and the hungry have forsaken the land; for the barren has born seven, and she that abounded in children has waxed feeble. ⁵ They that were full have hired out themselves for bread; and they that were hungry have ceased: yea, the barren hath borne seven; and she that hath many children languisheth. ⁵ The well-fed hire themselves out for food, but the starving hunger no more.     but she who has many children is forlorn.⁵ The sated, have, for bread, taken hire, But, the famished, have left off their toil, - So that, the barren, hath given birth unto seven, While, she that hath many sons, languisheth:⁵ They that were full before, have hired out themselves for bread: and the hungry are filled, so that the barren hath borne many: and she that had many children is weakened.⁵ Those who were full have hired themselves out for bread, but those who were hungry have ceased to hunger. The barren has borne seven, but she who has many children is forlorn.⁵ The satiated hired themselves for bread, || And the hungry have ceased. While the barren has borne seven, || And she abounding with sons has languished.

he sends some down to Sheol, and he raises others up.^(C2)6 The LORD kills, and makes alive: He brings down to She'ol, and brings up.

⁶ The Lord killeth, and maketh alive: he bringeth down to the grave, and bringeth up.
⁶ Yahweh kills and restores alive,
    he brings down to Sheol^[d] and raises up.
^6 (i)The Lord kills and brings to life;
    he brings down to Sheol and raises up.

⁶ "The Lord sends death,
    and he brings to life.
He sends people to the grave,
    and he raises them to life again.
⁶ The Lord both kills and gives life;
he brings down to the grave and raises up.

⁶ "^(C1)The LORD puts to death and makes alive;
^(C2)He brings down to Sheol (the grave) and raises up from the grave.

⁶ "^(C1)The LORD puts to death and makes alive;
^(C2)He brings down to ^(F1)Sheol and brings up.

⁶ "^(C1)Yahweh puts to death and makes alive;
^(C2)He brings down to Sheol and raises up.

⁶ "Adonai kills and makes alive;
he brings down to the grave, and he brings up.

⁶ Jehovah killeth, and maketh alive; he bringeth down to Sheol, and bringeth up.

⁶ The Lord causes people to die,
    and he causes them to live.
He sends people down to the grave,
    and he can raise them up to live again.⁶ It is the LORD who makes men to die and makes alive; he brings down to Sheol and brings up.
^6 (b)The Lord kills and restores to life;
    he sends people to the world of the dead
    and brings them back again.⁶ Jehovah kills and keeps alive; He brings down and causes to go to Sheol.⁶ The Lorde slayeth, and geueth life: he ledeth vnto hell, and bryngeth out agayne.
⁶ Jehovah killeth, and maketh alive:
He bringeth down to Sheol, and bringeth up.⁶ The Lord is the giver of death and life: sending men down to the underworld and lifting them up.⁶ The Lord kylleth and maketh alyue, bryngeth downe to the graue & fetcheth vp agayne.⁶ The LORD killeth, and maketh alive; He bringeth down to the grave, and bringeth up.⁶ The Lord killeth and maketh aliue, he bringeth downe to the graue, and bringeth vp. ⁶ The Lord kills and makes alive; he brings down to the grave, and brings up. ⁶ The LORD killeth, and maketh alive: he bringeth down to the grave, and bringeth up. ⁶ The LORD brings death and gives life; some He brings down to Sheol, and others He raises up.⁶ The Lord sleeth, and quikeneth; he ledith forth to hellis, and bryngith ayen.⁶ Jehovah putteth to death, and keepeth alive, He bringeth down to Sheol, and bringeth up.⁶ Yahweh kills, and makes alive: He brings down to Sheol, and brings up.⁶ The LORD killeth, and maketh alive: he bringeth down to the grave, and bringeth up.⁶ Yahweh kills, and makes alive: He brings down to Sheol, and brings up. ⁶ "The LORD kills and makes alive; He brings down to the grave and brings up.
⁶ The Lord gives both death and life;
    he brings some down to the grave^[b] but raises others up. ⁶ The Lord kills and brings to life. He brings down to the grave, and He raises up.
⁶ The Lord kills and brings to life;
    he brings down to Sheol and raises up.⁶ Yahweh, doth kill, and make alive, - Taketh down to hades, and bringeth up:⁶ The Lord killeth and maketh alive, he bringeth down to hell, and bringeth back again.⁶ The LORD kills and brings to life; he brings down to Sheol and raises up.⁶ YHWH puts to death, and keeps alive, || He brings down to Sheol, and brings up.^6-10 God brings death and God brings life,
    brings down to the grave and raises up.
God brings poverty and God brings wealth;
    he lowers, he also lifts up.
He puts poor people on their feet again;
    he rekindles burned-out lives with fresh hope,
Restoring dignity and respect to their lives—
    a place in the sun!
For the very structures of earth are God's;
    he has laid out his operations on a firm foundation.
He protectively cares for his faithful friends, step by step,
    but leaves the wicked to stumble in the dark.
    No one makes it in this life by sheer muscle!
God's enemies will be blasted out of the sky,
    crashed in a heap and burned.
God will set things right all over the earth,
    he'll give strength to his king,
    he'll set his anointed on top of the world!
