2 Samuel 15:5

When a person approached to pay homage to him, Absalom reached out his hand, took hold of him, and kissed him. It was so, that when any man came near to do him obeisance, he put forth his hand, and took hold of him, and kissed him. And it was so, that when any man came nigh to him to do him obeisance, he put forth his hand, and took him, and kissed him. It happened whenever anyone drew near to do obeisance to him, that he would stretch his hand and take hold of him and kiss him. And whenever a man came near to pay homage to him, he would put out his hand and take hold of him and kiss him. People would come near Absalom to bow to him. When they did, Absalom would reach out his hand and take hold of them and kiss them. When someone approached to bow before him, Absalom would extend his hand and embrace him and kiss him. And whenever a man approached to bow down before him, he would put out his hand, take hold of him, and kiss him. And whenever a man approached to prostrate himself before him, he would put out his hand and take hold of him and kiss him. And when any man came neere to him, and did him obeisance, he put forth his hand, & tooke him, and kissed him. And when a man came near to prostrate himself before him, he would send forth his hand and take hold of him and kiss him. Whenever anyone would come to Absalom and start bowing down, he would reach out and hug and kiss them. Moreover, whenever any man came close to prostrate himself before him, he would put out his hand, take hold of him and kiss him. And it was so, that when any man came near to do him obeisance, he put forth his hand, and took him, and kissed him. And if anyone came to Absalom and started to bow down to him, Absalom would treat him like a close friend—he would reach out and touch him and kiss him. And whenever a man arose to do him obeisance, he held him by his hand and kissed him. When the man would approach Absalom to bow down before him, Absalom would reach out, take hold of him, and kiss him. And it happened, when a man drew near to bow himself to him, he put out his hand and laid hold on him, and gave him a kiss. And whan eny man came to him to do worshippe & to do him obeisaunce, he put forth his hade, and helde him & kyssed him. And it was so, that, when any man came nigh to do him obeisance, he put forth his hand, and took hold of him, and kissed him. And if any man came near to give him honour, he took him by the hand and gave him a kiss. And when any man came nye to him, and dyd him obeysaunce, he put foorth his hande, and toke him to him, and kissed him. And it was so, that when any man came nigh to prostrate himself before him, he put forth his hand, and took hold of him, and kissed him. And it came to pass when a man came near to do him obeisance, that he stretched out his hand, and took hold of him, and kissed him. And it was so, that when any man came nigh to do him obeisance, he put forth his hand, and took hold of him, and kissed him. Also, when anyone approached to bow down to him, Absalom would reach out his hand, take hold of him, and kiss him. But whanne a man cam to Absolon to greete hym, he helde forth the hond, and took, and kisside that man; And it hath come to pass, in the drawing nearing of any one to bow himself to him, that he hath put forth his hand, and laid hold on him, and given a kiss to him; And it was so, that, when any man came near to do him obeisance, he put forth his hand, and took hold of him, and kissed him. And so it was, whenever anyone came near to bow down to him, that he would put out his hand and take him and kiss him. When people tried to bow before him, Absalom wouldn't let them. Instead, he took them by the hand and kissed them. When a man came near to put his face to the ground in front of him, Absalom would put out his hand and take hold of him and kiss him. Whenever people came near to do obeisance to him, he would put out his hand and take hold of them, and kiss them. Moreover, so it used to be, that, when any man came near to do him homage, he would put forth his hand, and lay hold of him, and kiss him. Gill's Notes on the Bible

And it was [so], that when any man came nigh [to him] to do him obeisance,.... To pay his respects, and bow to him, as being the king's son, a prince of the blood, and heir to the crown, as was supposed:

he put forth his hand, and took him, and kissed him; he put out his hand and shook hands with him, or took him about the neck and kissed him, and by this free, familiar, affable, and courteous manner, strangely won upon and gained the affections of the people, as follows. Fortunatus Schacchus e thinks he put forth his hand to be kissed by them, and then kissed them, which was more than was usual.

e Eloeochrism. Myrothec. l. 3. c. 34. col. 964.
